Not gonna argue as it’s all personal opinion, however, silva hasn’t even peaked for me and age certainly on his side compared with gundo

Yeah it’s about opinions and silva brings energy ball retention better than gundo but gundo brings the stats to goals! If Silva brought that forward thinking David Silva killer passes he’d be unstoppable!

So was Yaya.

So was Merlin.

The most difficult person to replace in my view is Pep because he is one guy who really can adapt to his changing resources.
And neither of those players has been replaced. Each of the four under discussion has brought something unique to the team. None of them will ever be replaced like for like and neither will Pep.

We are all City fans, but I remember that a couple months ago, every time we had a poor result, this thread had at least 10 new pages. Shame it's not the same when we win, because all the "overthinking" by Pep are the reasons why the season imrpoved. He recovered Mahrez, KDB, Dias. He trusted Ake, Akanji. Bernardo multifunctionality, playing with 4 CBs sacrificing Walker's pace, Grealish great improvements. Getting rid of Cancelo.

I even remember a couple of people wanting this to be Pep's last season, and several others having doubts whether he should continue. Even though we were fighting for 3 titles!! Maybe we will win nil, but this is another top top season by the best manager in the world.

The losses (incredibly these were all in a row)

Basel 1-2 in the last 16 2017/18.

Liverpool 1-2 in the quarter finals 2017/18.

Lyon 1-2 in the group stage 2018/19.

The draws

Celtic group stage 2016/17.

Shakhtar group stage 2019/20.

I think Pep is looking really well lately.

Physically looks well, and is really relaxed, laid back and not as tetchy.

Hope this bodes well for the rest of the season

Point being if Pep is Happy with life and and relaxed it transfers to the team.

Nailed it. I won't lie, i was concerned without walkers pace, felt it wasn't worth the risk as if it went wrong it was more likely to go disastrously wrong but peps smashed it.

Unless injuries occur I can't see him shifting too much from this formation now for the rest of the season.
