Maybe.....but that's a different argument.
As there’s no question he deliberately ‘threw the game’ we just have to accept that he’ll sometimes appear to get it wrong.
As long as he does what he thinks is right for city to win football matches, and by Christ he does win us a lot of football matches, I believe that’s all you can ask for.

No single supporter has accused him of throwing the game deliberately. He did however try and fix something that wasn't broken, and he will probably forever regret doing so.

The fact is,we gift wrapped and gave that trophy away to a team that could not believe their luck.

Although, to be fair, we don’t know that as they might have beaten us whatever we did.

I think we're building up to another all time great team over the next 1-2 years.

KDB still in his peak, Haaland getting better and better, Alvarez, Foden, Bellingham(?*) Rico all developing.

Grealish, Stones, Dias, Rodri, Aké in the best form of their lives.

I think we'll be back on track for 100 points next season, and if we get the first CL then more will follow.

*Even if we don't get Bellingham then going for him suggests the club's looking to invest heavily.
Let's hope so.

I will go to my deathbed arguing that Pep didn’t overthink the champions league final, he identified a major issue but his solution didn’t work. He went with Sterling to try and ensure their wingbacks stayed deeper back 3 was covered. That was because in both previous meetings their wingbacks caused us huge problems. Effectively getting 4 v 4 or some cases 5 v 4. Unfortunately Chelsea were still able to get though our press so the wingbacks ended up 1 v 1 on both flanks with 3 runners and Mount coming forward. Hence we were constantly stretched. Had Werner learned how to shoot we would have been in trouble long before half time.

Everyone talks about dropping Rodri costing us but none of our problems were through the middle, all of it came out wide.
The goal came right through the middle.
