Pep needs to change game plan and stop with this ball controlling stuff it is boring passing sideways while opponent camping on their half side waiting, and than they have one counter attack were they scoring.
We play slow and very predictable, players doesn't pass forwards, especially for runners in space.
Also there is less crossing than last season which is funny.
Wide players looks like they are being told to play safe and not to lose ball.
There were many situations where they can cross ball or try to beat opponent, but they didn't and ball were going back to center half.

I think the issue here is the players are not buying it to peps rotation, bar Halland, KDB, rodri and bernado for this big games, the rest are rotated to fuck, can’t get any rythm in their play and are out of form and pretty much sulking. Plus gundogan final year and bernado wanting off.

How the fuck can a team dominate games with an average 70/80% possession yet create so few goal scoring opportunities? Add the fact that we have secured the best striker in the world who thrives on the early ball......and Pep's tactics make no sense whatsoever.

Yore right, our football is far too slow, predictable, safe and ultimately...... boring as fuck.

I think you are under the illusion that that is Pep's gameplan.

He has always preferred quick passes to break defenses down. It worked with Aguero because of his world class first touch.

It worked with false 9 because no one knew who would provide the shot on goal vs the pass.

But it is not working now because every defense knows the shot on goal is only coming from Haaland.

The only solution is since we've played false 9 for the past 2 years so they should all be chipping in with goals, but they seem to have all gotten old, lazy and seem to be happy keeping the ball and praying for Haaland miracles.

Defensively we also miss Ruben Dias.

Sometimes the simplest answer is the correct one.

i didn't watch the match because i was working, and have no intention of rewatching it, i've seen the goals though, now according to what i've read after a cagey first half we dominated the second half, thats what ive read/watched, i've also read that the first goal changed the game completely , now if that is true what has pep got wrong , we dominated the 2nd half ,got the goal at a very tough place to go in front of a manic 75000 fans and looked set to win the game(again not my opinion), we aren't going to get many chances in big games against a team on form and contrary to city's fans thought on blue a half decent team .

before the world cup we were playing the same way and the big lad got 27 goals,i do think we are off it a little bit, but according to what i've read the 2nd half was like the dominant city we are used to, so again what did pep get wrong yesterday or did the players heads go after that first goal.

Our greatest strengths were fast start, early goal and then pick teams off when they come at us
Now it’s slow and ponderous possession for the sake of it. Then the other team settles and start hitting us on the counter.
We create fuck all and once we go behind we know we won’t create anything
Pep looks lost

Once again KDB was man marked, this time by Fred. Everywhere KDB went, Fred followed him. That was Fred’s only role in the game, bar the odd tackle here and there. I think Brentford started it when they won 1-2 at the Etihad. Everton did the same thing. Managers have cottoned on. Stop KDB and that stops the balls coming into Haaland from the sides, which KDB was doing constantly at the start of the season, when Haaland was scoring for fun.

As for Haaland. He’s being man marked by both centre halfs. ATM he’s too static. Walking and pacing around upfront on his own and getting frustrated. But when he does get free, makes the space, runs forward, the balls aren’t being played forward and through to him. Instead the balls and passes keep on going side ways and backwards. (Pep’s keep ball and control the play tactics)

We kept making the wrong pass yesterday. I don't necessarily think that is Pep's fault. A quick forward pass into the running Haaland was on and we passed it sideways. One successful one and he'd probably score and the mood would be totally different I'm sure we'll adapt. We've had all types of players and Pep's found a way.

Kdb assisted our goal

We and he havent always played like this. Our play has dramatically slowed down over this season and the last

We are 2nd in the league and in the FA Cup and CL still.

I am not going to write this side, Pep or this season off in January.

That's exactly how I saw the game. I thought we was bang average first half then came out second half a different team and it was inevitable we would go in the lead. We was totally in control of that game until that ridiculous goal and United had run out of ideas.

My main gripe at the moment is the amount of times runners are being ignored and the ball is recycled back into the middle of the park again and we go sideways again it's painful to watch at times!
