So people actually thought it was Bernardo as left back that was "horrible".. the outside mainstream world at least. He played there vs. Villa in the previous game as well.

It was inverting the wingers defensively to cover for Zinch going inside and compress the/that space

(to make them play outside in the build up to not give the pass, inside to out, to the arsenal wingers that gives them space then I pressume. If Saka/Martinelli gets the ball a shorter pass straighter up from his own back he has less time and more angled towards his own goal, making his options and time less+ keeps them/Arsenal on the outside, think he was scared of Ode getting the ball in the pocket as well from the deeplying mid/Zinch)

,and I dont think it was such a bad idea really, I think they need to train on it more though, cos it almost becomes in the defence like the old Milan christmas tree formation lol.

And the opponent rarely does it as well so.

Edit: Ok he said it as well at 6.07 again, and he pushed up the whole team and the CMs on their deeplying midfielders positions instead.

That embargoed section was absolutely brilliant. When Pep talks at length like that about football… wow, I could honestly listen to him for hours on end.

Feels good to have noticed the wingers defending inside “horrible” tactics lol.

Long balls in the second half at Highbury and now pep has gone full club shop in his pre match presser. He's channelling the inner Pullis to take us to glory.
It's Plan B, C 'n D rolled into one. Should be unstoppable. I wonder if he sets aside a bit of the training in the week for Eddie to thump balls up the field with Erling 'n Jack on the end and Ruben and Nathan having to field 'em.

Yes, you can blame the players for not finishing the chances, but once again no subs until the last few minutes, not taking certain players off who are having a bad game, and not seeing the game out with extra defenders. Too many times this season Pep has made the same mistakes.

Such a poor ending from Pep. They subbed 5 players before the goal. Pep did nothing.
Our team was exhausted. Grealish, Gundo, Bernardo and Laporte are all to blame for this. They all stayed behind the ball.

And the he will say we has our chances. But not bringing at least Ake on after they sent 5 new players on the pitch is very poor.
It us like he was sleeping.

People here...we had one of our best matches of the season. One of those matches that you draw 1 out of 100, they haven't created even half a chance, why would you sub anyone when the game is so controlled? But of course people here is: win, Pep good, lose/draw, Pep made mistakes. So predictable

When the opposition put 5 fresh players on, as a manager you have to react to that. Pep didn’t again.

They haven’t until they changed 5 players. You need to react. Especially when Bernardo plays as left defender.

Pep sat & watched Kev fail to hit a decent shot from about 10 chances that fell to him & watched him miss every opportunity he had to send his team mates in but didn't sub him till they equalised, he genuinely doesn't know what he's doing.

No one's saying we had a bad match? We are saying it was so absolutely obvious we should have made subs around the 70th minute. The score was 1-0, was a potential equalizer such an unforeseeable result at that moment that he thought he didn't need a proper left back, and that we didn't need to return to a more established formation to handle the threat of Chris Wood?
