He stated in his post match press conference why he loves being at City, and it wasn't about winning trophies; although he obviously wants to win them and knows he needs to if he is to keep the job. He didn't sound like a guy in a hurry to go anywhere else.

I don't think another club can offer him a better situation than he has at City and he knows it. That doesn't mean he won't want a change at some point but leaving us to manage Spain might be the thing that does it. Not sure if his strong Catalan affiliation would be an issue but he has expressed a desire to manage a national team and we know he would rather live in Barca than MCR, which is fair enough.

One thing I liked about his post match presser was how he made a point to praise the fans for turning out in big numbers for an FAC Semi after three consecutive years where the team didn't turn up.

I agree with most of what you're saying and Pep clearly does love being here, hence him being here this long and recently extending his contract. However, it all boils down to him continuing to be happy here and whether his wife and family are ok with it.

When Pep eventually leaves he'll probably have a year or so out of the game and perhaps manage at international level, but he being a staunch Catalonian i very much doubt he'll ever manage spain even if he was offered the job which i don't think he will be.

The interview is old but it’s on YouTube. Have things moved on? Maybe, maybe not. He played for Spain and they would be mad not to appoint him if he wanted that job.

I’m sure Pep’s family is key to any future decision. For now, at least he can afford to use private jets to deliver some family time.

I can't imagine he pays for those private jets, bet the club do!
 
I think if we did manage to win all three this season not only would we have to be considered the best ever english team also Pep would probably & sadly call it a day.

He will at some point. So that would be the best way to say goodbye, wouldn’t you agree?

I thank Mansour nearly every day he made me witness City for over a decade being successful. And witness City playing the best football ever. And hopefully City winning a goodbye Pep treble. Can’t wish for more.

I want Pep to stay for a long time yet but you are right to win the three would be the perfect way to say goodbye (unless we could win the 4 next season :-)
 
Too early to think about the treble, Pep's perfectly right about that.

The chance to do it is no more than 25% now.

It may feel like it's a lot better than that, because we are arguably the best team in Europe, but if you do the maths it gets clear it's 25% at best.

IF we win the tie with Real and win the league, the chance rises to 50%.
 
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, irrespective of whether we win 0, 1, 2 or 3 trophies, this season ranks as one of Pep’s best performing seasons of his career. Maybe even the best? I honestly think he’s not getting anywhere near the credit he deserves. For almost half of this season, we looked a shadow of a title-challenging team. We had the majority of the squad with issues, be it motivation, desire, fitness, wanting to leave etc, we had happy flowers, we had Pep calling out players/the squad publically. It was honestly a broken mess. For Pep to get on top of that and turn it around both tactically and interpersonally, and flip it into an attempt at a treble, is nothing short of miraculous. He’s the greatest of all time, and he’s proving it yet again this season. Even if we win nothing, Pep has been sensational this season.

I have it at about 17.5% chance of the treble right now, but if we beat Arsenal it goes up to around 21.5%

I have it currently at about 65% chance of winning the league, going up to 80% if we beat Arsenal, 55% chance against Madrid and 70% chance in the final, meaning an overall 38.5% chance of winning the CL from here. Then a 70% chance of winning the FA Cup Final. But I’ve tried to be a little conservative to try to remove City bias.

This is Pep. Winning all three would satisfy us fans and the players, and some. For Pep it will just make he want to go and win all four next season instead!

We should consider this season to be a success even if we end up with no trophies, we have been excellent most of the season having lost some regular starters. I look at the mess Chelsea and Spurs are in and think we are privileged to be fans of a well-run club with exciting plans for the future. My only concern is whether the owners and executives have a succession plan in place for Pep. He has extended his contract but that doesn’t mean a lot, really. If we win the treble he might decide to go out on a high, which could lead to a scramble for a successor. If we do win the treble (unlikely, but two out of three ain’t bad) I hope he has a chat with the bosses and agrees to stay with the club whilst they find a suitable successor and maybe stay on a bit longer to mentor whoever replaces him.
