many many big games where we had incredibly more chances and couldnt win.
Chelsea away, Chelsea home, Spurs home, not so much the Pool home but they were there for taking and we were on top but just couldnt kill the game. and now this. hope he knows the reasons for it, for me it is partially the fucked up transfer window.
many of these opponents needed hardly many chances to score quite a few goals vs us.

not as angry tonight as I was in the Chelsea CL final loss, but our tempo was not right in first half imo we should have pulled it back much earlier to leave us enough time to turn it around.

we were much better at Real at everything except being as effective in both boxes. we'd never survived conceding 30+ shots with only 1 goal. and if they make 30 shots they probably score a few.

He put the right players on the pitch, told them what to do, not his fault they didnt execute. This isn't a playstation game, the players are in control when they cross that line.

Indeed the player we thought will convert those chances into goal (Foden and Kev) didn't turn it and we lose because of that.

My opinion

Everyone knew we had no chance at penalty vs Real Madrid.

Only regret today: When we were 0-1 down and controlling the game we should take down one defender and sub additional forward player on. Doku should come on earlier and keep Grealish. Take out one defender (Josko or Akanji) because we still have Stones and Ake on the bench ready to go if we get the lead again.

Controlled the game but Madrid allowed us to do that. They came to defend. No different to how 99% of other teams come here so that’s not particularly on Pep.

But taking Haaland and Kev off when the game was so obviously crawling to pens is criminal.
Unless, as we've found out, both told him they were on empty, he's not a fool or a criminal

Got the tactics alright but will have to shoulder some of the responsibility. Too many players are running on empty because the small squad philosophy needs a rethink and because he's been badly, badly let down by those in charge of recruitment.

I am sure he has the final word, so he should take responsibility for his choices.

Walker should have got some minutes against Luton, one month without playing it took him 15mn to get into the game.

Somewhere along the line mistakes have been made, and if he’s involved in that, then yes he is culpable to a degree.

He’s always been consistent in criticising the amount of football players are being asked to play, yet at the same time he’s been consistent in maintaining a small squad of first-team players. That I’ve always found a little logically inconsistent, but he knows much more than us.

i really hope they will rethink, if they think this year they are running on empty, then next season it will be extra difficult.
