Pep Guardiola - 2025/26

This I agree with. Italian managers have done bits in the Prem including with us. Mancini, Ancelotti, Conte, and Ranieri. DiMatteo won the CL. Even our boy Pellegrini is the son Italian immigrant parents...: )
Yeah I don’t know what’s the problem With Italians and I like Mancini. Sometimes tough people, but professionals in general

Ok De Zerbi is a bit left field so I like that choice tbh, Kompany is too early and Maresca is a no no, all my opinion mind, but I like that De Zerbi shout because he has league experience with Brighton.
Why Maresca no no? He is doing a good job at Chelsea. Brave style and won UCL as Pep’s assistant. I appreciate him. 3-0 with PSG and Flick’s Barca are top results.

Hmmmm, the fire is gone, it was brutal to listen to his post-match interview this morning.

I am not one of those, I love him to bits both as a manager and as a person, it's just that I think he has finally reached EOL date with us and this just above the average squad doesn't help.

I don't think the fires gone, but each to their own

That was poor by their board because they didn’t plan well. Look what happened Arsenal when Wenger stayed too long is set Arsenal back years
Wenger stayed 15 years too long as he last won the League in 2004 and ended up leaving in 2019. There is no comparison with Pep who last won us the league in 2024 it's just not the same.

Im just not a fan of wholesale changes like the way he is doing, it doesn't give you the best look into certain players when none of them have any chemistry.

Have a starting 11, and change just maybe 2 players every game to start with.

This game and Guardiola’s line-up were similar to Lyon’s from 2020 in the 1/4 of Champions League. Just to show the world I can win with shit line-up as well. Suicidal, egomaniac, very arrogant, very predictable and very stupid.

But at least he proved that some players in this club are shit, needs to be sold/loaned and City needs 1-2 transfers in January.

He should have left after we won the CL, job done. The 'four in a row' season was similar to the GPC's 2012/13 season at the swamp... Won the league but the writing was already on the wall due to poor signings, weak squad, and we know how that turned out.

Guardiola has had his day. Time for a change.
Or you’re just impatient and given time we will improve again.
It’s hardly like we’ve dropped into oblivion. We’re 2nd/3rd best team in the country.

Not necessarily. Can anyone really say the likes of Marmoush, Reijnders, Khusonov, Ait Nouri, and Stones could not slot in judiciously with what's currently being called the "A" team? Yet Pep prefers the likes of Bobb and Savinho who are miles off it at this time. Our most pressing need is out wide up the field. Add an Olise, Yildez, or Kvaradona and we'd be exponentially better.

He has the moral obligation to stay and rebuilt the team for the next manager.

If we will stuck with Bobb, Lewis, Nunes, Savinho, not targeting top players or choosing C, E, G choices or doing cheap transfers no serious manager will join us.

maybe add serious physical midfielder to work with Nico because Reijnders is ass defensively and Rodri is non stop unfit. We are treating Nico in the same way as Rodri. Like a horse, just waiting for injury. Midfielder is as important as winger in terms of new players.

Well, Maresca and that shit Chelsea who cost 2 billion was 2 points below City last season, right now is one point above City. Maresca won Conference League and CWC in style. I would consider him alongside Kompany, without a doubt. De Zerbi impress me to fight with PSG that have 5 times bigger budget than OM. Both are very good managers.

Don’t know how anyone can see De Zerbi doing press conferences about how great a person rapist Mason Greenwood is and think “Gosh I wish he was at my club!”

He’s a bigger weirdo than Pep, don’t know how to avoid massive controversy, has a history of falling out with his best players and upper management and has never won anything.

These are not the qualities of a Manchester City manager in 2026.

Bayern is always a short term gig. No matter how good you are.

Yep, if he sees out his contract (5 years total) he’ll be the second longest serving manager in Bayerns history.

Only 2 managers have made it through 3 full seasons in the last 30 years (Pep and Heynckes in the 90s)

I have to vehemently disagree. Almost every single manager in the world would come to City barring a select few but only because they are already employed at a top club...
If a new manager who as you say is "serious" were to come in Bobb, Savinho, and Lewis would not see the field.
Adding Nunes playing as an RB to your list is a bit odd to say the least.

What I think riled me most about that team last night, is that you could make a case for giving everyone of that starting 11 (minus Nico G) a game, but FFS not all at the same time, and so it proved.

Questions about that first half......I don't know what the plan was, or who was meant to be playing where.

I'll start with Bobb and Lewis, was one of them meant to be "inside", and the other "outside" ?

What about Ait Nouri, was he FB or winger, or copying the Nico OR role ?

Was it 3 at the back with wingbacks ? Where was Savinho supposed to be playing ?

The only 3 who you could hand on heart say where they were playing were Trafford, Stones, Ake, and Marmoush.

What had they done to pepare in training ?

Also if it looks like a rabble, and the way Pep on the side was waving his arms about, it must have to him, then why not change it ? I called the opening goal before the ball left our half, I think they'd been in our half twice at that point, but it was reminiscent of so many from that run last year, the second goal was just as bad, Savinho not giving a shit about tracking back, not cutting out the cross, and Ake having boots full of lead, just inept.

Even the subs didn't add much, Foden ran about a lot to little effect, Nico OR probably the pick of the bunch, Doku goes from world class against liverpool, to third class last night, every thing he did was the wrong thing, Haaland was guilty of trying too hard, and again completely ineffective, and Cherki doesn't look fit (and half the time doesn't look interested), and why he took off Khusanov, and put Reijnders at RB, I haven't a clue.

An absolute mess.

For instance I loathe Mikel Arteta. This guy epitomizes Arsenal in a perfect way. Full of complexes, full of rage, two faced, spending non stop without any consequences, zero trophies and horrible person, BUT. But his style right now works. And their recruitment is very, very good. And their have waited for City and Liverpool to collapse. Mainly because of perfect defence and players that like defending and running. City has too many lazy, soft players with bad physicality to compete with them in that way. This is somehow incredible people here complained on Sane Sterling, Mahrez when Bobb and Savinho are here.
