When they showed that stat near half time about us having 72% possession summed up the game and Pep’s current tactics, absolute garbage. We didn’t make Lammens make a single save bar the Alleyne header.

We now have quite a large squad, certainly larger than we’ve had for a while, and it’s deep with quality, but what we haven’t seen is that large squad fully utilised. The peculiar summer, numerous injuries, and AFCON have all played a part in Guardiola still functioning with a relatively small nucleus of players. The remainder of the season should reveal how well he can manage the players Viana has put at his disposal.He and the management will make the best decision for the club at the end of the season. I still cant understand the insistence for a small squad considering how many games we’re playing across PL, CL and the domestic cups and the increased physicality in general.
The thing is we were playing faster and more direct 1st half of the season, even other fans were pointing out how direct Pep was.More walking football. Even counter attacks end up with a turn back towards the centre circle. Fuck this style of football off. It wasn't always like this, but the last 2 years it has been
One 5-4 against Fulham, and he reverts back to the old horseshoe football that has Haaland not score an open play goal in 6 matches.
Sure, we weren't the most convincing side that period, but it was something new, and unpredictable for the rest of the league. We also saw Haaland, Foden and Doku had the form of their lives. We played to the strengths of our squad.

He’s in a good position, has no pressure so fair play to him. The whole team around him are super chilled and paid well so why break sweat.

Surely it was during the game not after so why didn’t he change something.

The three things you noted are why I’m not quite ready to have a go at him. Let Guehi, Gonzalez, Dias and Marmoush get into contention and see how he does. I agree we feel like we get pushed around both on and off the field far more than a behemoth like us should do but is that just us as fans being a bit too sensitive.Yes I think he does psychologically respect so called big teams. I remember in our first CL final he said something along the lines of we have to get here first and feel the process of what its like before winning it. You have to arrive and no what its like and then next time win it. And this was a week before the game. Maybe its his english. I don't think you would ever see him go at Klopp or another rival like Mancini did to the pissed c**t. Not that it matters but I just feel overall the club has a soft underbelly. When we do come out all guns blazing we get c***s like Simon Jordan and the rest telling us we're wrong and we should keep quiet and stop whingeing. Never heard them say it about pisshead though.

Ake & Lewis at FB was obviously going to be an issue and proved as much. Not sure his half time subs worked - Foden & Lewis off for Nico & RAN would have been better for all 3 lines.

I find it very hard to not question decisions that have gone against us as nothing more than the powers that be getting one over on us. I’ve always said that this would be a transitional season, so any trophy would be a bonus. However, I’ve also said that Guardiola needs to show that he can operate with a larger squad and rotate them enough to keep us in contention across multiple fronts. We know he can do it with a smaller squad of experienced players, but we’re now looking to do it with a larger (currently inexperienced) squad, so that we’re there consistently over multiple seasons, and across domestic, European, and internal fronts. I’m right there with you in terms of expectations going in and how the season could pan out. Hugo Viana has to make some tough decisions at the end of the season, whether Pep likes it or not. Four or five players absolutely have to be let go. We'd thank them for everything they've given to the club, but they have to be away from City.
Otherwise, love is blind, and Pep is completely caught up in it. Even if you sign Anderson, Vitinha, and Hakimi, he's capable of ruining matches because of his feelings toward some of his favorites.
