Pep Guardiola - 2025/26

Criticizing Pep or anyone else for calling out what has happened to the population of Gaza is banal. He is not being anti Semitic. He's telling it how it is.There are thousands of Jews worldwide saying the exact same thing.

They understand who the persecuted people are in this dispute. As usual the strong have to make specious arguments to justify their actions.

It's a pretty ridiculous benchmark that you can't criticise Israel when it's quite clearly in the wrong, unless you criticise every other country that has done something wrong too.

The war in Gaza is high profile. A lot of people won't have a clue what's going on elsewhere in the world. Just because they haven't condemned those wars, doesn't mean they are antisemitic for criticising Israel.

I appreciate its incredibly sensitive to hear about, particularly for anyone Jewish but common sense should still prevail when it comes to what Pep has said.

Can someone point out where he's on record as "...being a good human being..." about the oppression of Kurds in Syria. Or the 30,000 murdered in Iran recently. Or the plight of the Uighurs, the Rohingya, the Yazidis, the victims of the original Oct 7th massacre (which also involved the cold-blooded murder of men, women & children across the age range from babies to octogenarians.. Or the innocent people in Sudan and Yemen, killed by the people who pay by his wages.

Or is the "good human being" only bothered when it's Israel, or just possibly an out-and-out antisemite?
Or maybe he’s just anti genocide

Still makes me smile thinking how many journalists were adamant that he’d only want to join United, even right up until this announcement.
not only journos, pundits and fans too - Sunday Mirror has a nice DPS on The Perfect 10 in later today

Keep defending the indefensible Colin, you sound more and more like a Scouser every day.

Just shows how many " journalists " are just up the arses of the rags and dippers, with everybody else seen as lesser clubs.

The is so little integrity amongst the media that it is truly pathetic and worrying. The majority whore themselves to collect their grimy paypackets.

When people say "keep politics out of sport," what they usually mean is keep politics I don't agree with out of sport.

Is Pep Lijnders being Prepped to take over from him when/if he goes at end of his contract?

I know Lijnders has just a 1 year contract so let’s see if he renews that end of season!

I suspect not. HIs ventures into the hot seat have been underwhelming; some people are simply better at playing second fiddle. Judging by a comment in his interview, his family (young) would appear, I think, to still be in the Netherlands, so perhaps he prefers the flexibility of a short-term contract.

Newsflash for you Colin, you DO NOT have to be an anti-Semite to see what Israel has done and is still fucking doing in Gaza.

I used to really like you but I think your Israeli myopia is sickening.

Agree this. I like him, and when he does decide to go there won't be the instant dislike that I have for Arteta. I wasn't sure at first due to his Dipper connections, but he's sound. I hope he does another year, club need to replace that set piece coach though....
