Pep Guardiola - 2025/26

Is Pep Lijnders being Prepped to take over from him when/if he goes at end of his contract?

I know Lijnders has just a 1 year contract so let’s see if he renews that end of season!

I doubt it.

I think Lijnders was a necessary appointment with the way football has transitioned to a much more physical and vertical style of play and who better than to get one of the best transition football assistant coaches in the game.

I think Lijnders leading the presser yesterday has more to do with Pep not wanting the whole conference being driven by politics ahead of a big game after his speech on Thursday.

Still makes me smile thinking how many journalists were adamant that he’d only want to join United, even right up until this announcement.

They might have got that wrong but when they said he wouldn't be able to dominate in England with that tiki taka nonsense they were spot on weren't they....

Really is no surprise England have failed to win a major tournament when our greatest footballing minds are so fucking stupid.

Can someone point out where he's on record as "...being a good human being..." about the oppression of Kurds in Syria. Or the 30,000 murdered in Iran recently. Or the plight of the Uighurs, the Rohingya, the Yazidis, the victims of the original Oct 7th massacre (which also involved the cold-blooded murder of men, women & children across the age range from babies to octogenarians.. Or the innocent people in Sudan and Yemen, killed by the people who pay by his wages.

Or is the "good human being" only bothered when it's Israel, or just possibly an out-and-out antisemite?
It doesn't follow if a public figure endorses one good cause that they must also campaign for all the others. What's wrong with Pep just choosing to associate himself with the Gaza appeal?

Guessing 4-2-2-2 again, like this:

Donnarumma
Matheus N., Khusanov, Guéhi, Aït-Nouri
Rodrigo, O'Reilly
Cherki, Bernardo
Haaland, Semenyo

These second half performances do make me question the management. Like with almost every club, it can be that all 11 players become shit and cumbersome after the first half.
Is the message not getting through - are the players not listening to Pep or is it something ?

Nothings changing. We have been playing the same shitty way for way too long now. He gave us the best we have ever had, no all we get is 45mins of good stuff followed by second halves where we lose the plot. He has to do something different and soon

There was that video from the centurion documentary where Pep says " You are tired! Fuck you " and makes them run some more. Those players used to look so fit and agile match after match that the teams would lose the match before a ball is kicked.
These second half performances remind me of these celebrity matches where an obese youtuber cant make a 5 metre run and give the ball up without any resistance.

In the first half it seemed we were playing more direct, quicker etc...very un-Pep like.

In the second half, we revert to type, come out sluggish and end up conceding 2. We don't react to Frank's changes.

How much more will Khaldoon let this happen? 2 years without a credible title fight FFS. THrowing away leads to shit becuase we refuse to adapt and evolve. We've spent 400+ million ffs and we have the same issues
