Pep Guardiola - 2025/26

Love the guy, he’s been amazing for us and in the top 2-3 managers of all time. Have very mixed feelings about him leaving… on the one hand it does feel like as a team we need a change and some new ideas… but what manager is possibly going to be better than him? Was hoping the back room changes would bring those new ideas but it just hasn’t clicked consistently this season in spite of hints that maybe something good was brewing at times. Feel like the last few seasons we haven’t been using the squad properly and that is why we have thrown away so many points from winning positions, not had the comebacks of previous years. Don’t know if it’s poor recruitment means we don’t have the talent on the bench anymore, or Pep just hasn’t been able to get the most of our of squad players like he used to. All the best Pep and thank you for the memories if he is moving on, but id also be perfectly happy to see him on the touchline again next year

I’m not sure the club let him down as such, but agree with everything else.
I agree they did. Still haven’t replaced Rodri, bought players like Nunes and Philips for midfield. The winger selection is abysmal, some are decent players in their own right but no way near the type pep needed

Its a debacle an effing joke. How did it get to the scum media leaking the story and the club completely loosing control of the situation.

Our greatest ever but timing feels right

Winning 2 trophies but we've lost the spark, we're so passive and he looks tired

Amazing we got 10 years out if him, hes transformed football but think some fresh ideas are needed now

Not sure Maresca is that person but here we are

10 years is nothing. The GPC is still at the rags now.
We lost the plot in the transfer market.

100% poor recruitment.

I think he’s made a few mistake over the past couple of seasons, but he’s been massively let down by woeful recruitment in the centre of the pitch. £200 million spent on Phillips, Nunes, Reijnders and Gonzalez and none are good enough to play there
Guess we will find out next year. If nunes isn’t good enough for city then no one is. Crazy thing to say.

Nico too

Let’s not rewrite history. Like Pep wasn’t involved in every single decision the club has made in 10yrs. He signed off on those players and he has to do better to get more out of them.

One thing that last night hammered home is how far we’ve veered away from being what you’d conventionally think of as a Pep team.
A keeper who can’t play, defenders panicking every time an opposition player presses them, no passing patterns through midfield. Wide open spaces everywhere. Attacking / creative players who are individualist (Doku), limited technically (Semenyo), or haven’t posed any kind of threat for 3 years (Bernardo).
If you teleported someone even from just three years ago to last night’s game, they wouldn’t for a second believe that this was a team coached by Pep.
Why we’ve gone this way, I don’t know. But we’ve suffered for it.
If we’d carried on playing Pep’s usual brand of football, post-treble, I genuinely think we’d be sat on another 1-2 titles. Maybe even another Champions League.
Greedy, obviously. But it’s just a very slight regret that attaches to Pep’s time with us. Other teams haven’t caught us up or found us out. We just chose to move away from what we/he did so brilliantly.

You missed your vocation; have you thought about being a football manager? Besides the PS type in your armchair? You appear to know far more than Pep.
