Pep Guardiola - 2025/26

The short pre-season and injuries to Gvardiol, Dias and Rodri stopped us from winning the league.

Relying on Stones and Ake to help if/when we have injuries at the back was naive and the biggest mistake the club made both last and this season. Pep overplayed Dias and Gvardiol, they got injuries and we had a terrible January. Given the injury crises in 24/25 and Akanji's move to Inter, Guehi should've been signed in the summer.

Still, we got close, won vs Arsenal and looked like favourites and the best team in the league. But Rodri got injured in the final minutes vs Arsenal, we struggled after that (Burnley, Southampton, Everton, Bournemouth), and that was that. Pep failed to win the league in two consecutive seasons for the first time in his career.

Let's hope Maresca will help us to win the title. How likely is that is anyone's guess. We'll have excellent months under him. The question is whether we'll be consistent enough. That's the big challenge after Pep.

He has told someone he's leaving . While stringing us along that he might stay.
Remember, Bobby Manc was given the holistic BS treatment. He said we weren't ready for him and delayed coming until we almost missed out on CL under Pellers.
Now, when the team desperately need continuity during a "rebuild ", he's effing of.

Whoever comes in must win either the CL, or the EPL.

We will have continuity one way or another, and the rebuild is pretty much finished and bedded in.

Barely gave the fans a clap but walked around for 5mins shaking Bournemouth players hands. Ridiculous
Maybe it’s too emotional for him
Maybe he is preparing for the send off at villa
Maybe he is giving bernado and stones the stage
Maybe he has changed his mind

Either way the man has changed this club and gave everyrhing he has for ten years

Anyone criticising anything he does can fuck right off as far as I am concerned

That wasn't a team that wanted the title tonight, no effort and no hunger at all except with two minutes to go.
Totally disagree
They are hungry and they have worked their balls off for us this season.
This isn’t a team that’s ready to win a title and quite honestly isn’t quite good enough
The quality isn’t their off the bench.
But it’s a hell of a lot better than it was last season
We won two out of the four completions we entered and came a close second in another

Those tough conversations never materialised, and we need to remember that Gundogan was still on the bench at Brighton. It will have been a steep learning curve for Viana and will likely influence how far he commits the club to future signings.

We have been patchy and patched up for two seasons, but unless the World Cup produces more headaches, I’m more confident about entering next season than I have been the last two.

Bernardo leaving, one right back,JSZ, Ake and Dias injured regularly. Rodders picking up injuries.
Upfront its Doku, AS and Erling, to cover 60 plus games?
Kush, Cherki and Josko will be world class, is Nico our left back or midfield?
We need a quality right back, 3 quality midfielders and possibly a world class left back.
And maybe a better goalkeeper.

We didn't win either the EPL, or the CL. Are we effing Crystal Palace?

No we don't we have a new young squad that won 2 cups and finished second, probably been the best team since January, you want to tear that all up and start again, idiotic, luckily we aren't run by idiots,we'll replace Bernardo, we' may well replace Marmoush, we will probably add cover for Nunes.Done unless there are some unwanted departures.

Fucking hell it's a wonder we won two trophies and came second in the league with that shite Pep has assembled.

We don’t need as many as you’re making out. A couple of decent midfielders and maybe a back up right back and we should have a very good chance of winning the league next season

We are losing an awful lot in losing Bernie. More than some think he is going to leave a massive hole in the team.

True, but if it is Maresca and he opts for a more expansive game and wants us to play forward faster, then the loss might be mitigated. The midfield needs two talented players with serious running power in both directions.

Young players elsewhere in the squad glosses over the fact that we’re still critically dependent on Rodri and Bernado in the middle of the park.

One of these is obviously going, the other is coming back from a horrible injury and, even if he gets back to his best form- which I think he can - he won’t be able to play as many games as he did pre-injury.

None of our other central midfielders - Kovacic, Reijnders or Gonzalez - are good enough to play regularly for an elite side. If one of these stays this summer, it’s probably because the other two have left and we need to hang onto them.

O’Reilly could be moved into midfield more permanently, but it’s debatable whether he’s as effective there. Even if he were, that still leaves us needing at two top class midfielders if we’ve got any intentions of winning the league next year.

Maybe but it depends who we sign. He’s had a good season but also some very ineffective games. Been a legend for us no doubt but offers very little going forwards these days. We desperately need to get his replacement right. If it someone who can also drive forwards and create we could be fine. He ind afford anymore dross like the ghost , Phillips or a squad player like Kovacic
