One thing you do see a lot is people saying Peps never built or rebuilt a team. I don’t think he gets the credit for what he’s done at City. In 16/17 he took over a squad where the core was 30+ During his time at the Etihad we’ve seen the likes of Gael Clichy, Pablo Zabaleta, David Silva, Vincent Kompany and Yaya Toure all move on. Only Aguero and Fernandinho are left though obviously Aguero is off this summer. He’s brought through Foden who despite the experts saying he needed loaning out for experience is now a first name on a match day squad list. The team has changed a lot from that first game nearly 5 years ago.
Another weapon used is the without money he’s nothing. That’s the easiest one to answer let’s look at our neighbours over a billion spent on players since 2013 shows it’s not just having the money it’s how you spend it! We got a bargain in Dias when compared to VVD as he’s only 23. £15 million cheaper and that doesn’t include the money we got off Benfica for Otamendi. I doubt Pep will ever get the credit he deserves bar from us blues in all honesty! But huge congratulations on a 3rd Premier League title in 4 years Pep and the team!

He doesn’t strike me as a man who craves media recognition. Like his comment last night thanking the journalists in helping us win the title!

He knows what he’s done is amazing, as do his bosses, his employees, his friends, family and the supporters.

He’s appreciated by those who are important.

Does anyone have an overview of City's transferdealings in the Pep era? I think this era more or less matches the time where City became self sustaining financially, following the period of accelerated investment forced upon us by FFP. So how many players have we actually bought and sold, and how much money have we actually spent? My guess is we didn't out spend the other top clubs.

I think one thing Pep has realised is that it is City v the world. First few years he tried to still be pals with everyone and so forth. At Bayern and Barca he had to deal with the politics of being there, at City he just gets to be on the training pitch.

He has created a seige mentality and doesn't give a fuck what anyone else thinks or does, it is why he is so sarcastic in press conferences etc.

Everybody knows he’s changed the face and ideology of English football, even kids playing on the park now try and play out from the back, the bitter cunts in our media will always try to twist the narrative to suit their agenda, anyone with any nous knows he’s a visionary and only in retrospect will he be truly revered for what he’s done for the game. The guy has failts of course, he’s human but never
the less he is a genius.
