Pep Guardiola

Why would you choose to work for Abramovic, when you could have more or less any top job in the world?

Nailed on for Chelsea job. IMO

Because didn't he say he wanted to work over here. Current Chelsea manager on two year deal would be easy to get rid of and Roman does like the Barca way. Could be wrong but thats as I see it. Pep to Chelsea, Jose to the Rags bringing back Trannie for them.

He'll never work for Roman. Wait and see mate. Never gonna happen. Pep can write his own ticket next. If his agent were to ring City, United, Arsenal, and Chelsea. All four clubs would offer him the job next summer. He won't take the Chelsea one. No chance.

Not us. We're getting out of the group and doing a league CL cup double. Just watch!

Why don't we just get Vilanova? Seems to have improved Barca since last year.

Being a bit facetious but it does suggest that managing Barca at the moment is not that difficult. And where does that leave Guardiola. Was he brilliant or just an ordinary manager in charge of an extraordinary team?

Food for thought.

It will be interesting to see where Pep turns up. His football philosophy requires the right playing staff from Junior upwards. The best fit model as Billy states is Arsenal. I think the rest of us require continuous investment and groundwork done at the academy level for the Pep model to be implemented and a success, which may take years to embed. Don't know if any of the owners have the time and patience.

Quite logical in some respects. Although Pep was given a great side, he had already embedded the playing style at the junior level. That's how I read it. Is he the risk worth taking?

Pep would be better taking a more low profile job like being our youth team manager and bringing through the best young players then in 5 years when Mancini's contracts up become our next manager...

I'm not sure why a lot of posters think Arsenal's academy/youth set up is so advanced, it's a bit of a myth of late to be honest?

Arsenal have made the Youth cup final once in 11 years, whereas Chelsea have been involved in three finals in the last five years and are currently unbeaten in the League.

At this present time Chelsea are far more advanced then Arsenal in a lot of areas.

For me the statement was based on the style of football. I thought Arsenal encourage the same style from academy all the way upto 1st team level. The same sort of style the Barca are now renowned for

I think the other important thing is that Arsenal have a culture of bringing players from the youth level through to the first team. Chelsea simply don't. The only appeal at Chelsea for Pep imo would be money and he doesn't strike me as a guy driven by money.

I believe they're both as bad as one another on that front.

Chamberlain?.........Walcott?.........Jenkinson?, all youngsters drafted in, there's only Wilshere and Gibbs to note?

With Chelsea only showing off Bertrand?

*Edit

We're just as bad and something that the new complex will change in future

Arsenal have a much better eye for buying in young talent and developing it than any other club in England don't you reckon ?

I think your missing the point Billy, it's Wenger that has the eye and development skills not Arsenal as a club.

The set up at Chelsea is far superior to Arsenal, both here and abroad and would be more inviting for Pep to stamp his mark.

In my humble opinion of course

*Another edit

What I'd give for Wenger to be employed by City once the new complex opens, he's just what we need.

Pep will pitch up at Stamford Bridge sooner rather than later, if the Chavs fail to make it out of the group stages. Roman will be on the war path big style.

RDM has always been a gap filler, nothing more, nothing less

I think we can all agree on that. The poor sod nearly didn't keep his job after winning the sodding champions league. What more did he have to do FFS?!?!!??!
