The Future's Blue said:As always mate, your answer is very interesting. The point of the post is simple, as you point out. Pep Guardiola has brought a team through the academy and then onto the world stage. He has excelled in the way he has given that one team such dynamism and through what they have acheived over the course of his tenure. However, it does not go to prove anything other than he is able to create a youthful team from scratch, with already excellent players, and gel that team into a winning side.
Well yes. It proves nothing other than that very small fact. And when you say gel that team into a winning side, you mean create arguably the greatest club side ever. Small facts I know, but still, worth pointing out.
I do not believe that Guardiola is an average coach nor do I believe that he is a great coach. My personal opinion is that the jury is out and only time will tell whether he can cut it at another club.
It's an opinion, I'll give you that.
Next you'll be telling me he's bringing Messi with him.
Why would I do that?
Seriously I don't understand how anyone can have Mancini placed on such a high pedestal that they have to play down Guardiola's achievements and mock them. Strikes me as incredibly insecure.
