The best coaching is playing the hand you are given and still winning.
14 trophies in what? Three years, was it? Yeah, let's give him a job with the academy. I'm sure he'll jump at the chance.
Pep is a great coach who transformed a very good side into the greatest club side ever (unless you're od enough to remember early 70's Ajax).
Yes he inherited great players. What was he supposed to do? Sell them and start again.
Here's the test: how would you feel if one of our rivals got him? How would you feel if Sore Alex stepped aside and handed over the keys to OT to him? Or if Abramovich won him over? Or if he declared his undying love for Liverpool...? Or Arsenal?
You'd be f**king worried. And you'd be right to be worried..
I have the world of respect for Mancini. It'd be hard on him and he probably wouldn't deserve it but Pep is just too good to ignore. Our owners would be foolish not to give his appointment very serious consideration (and Jose M!).
That said, I'd be happy with Mancini for another 10 years, if we on't change.
We're a long way from Ball, Neal, Coppell & Clarke, boys and girls.
