City were fully aware that the ESL was ploy for "the Americans" to ensure that they secured a domination of football revenue permanently, but City had no reason at all to trust UEFA and every reason to believe that it would cave in and give the ESL bunch what they wanted as they had over FFPR. Only when Ceferin showed some guts and fans showed the ESL had no backing could City (with Chelsea) effectively pull the plug on the sceme by leaving the other English clubs high and dry.

Admittedly I didn’t think it was going to fall on its arse within 48 hours but I thought it would eventually.

If City had held their nerve, it never would have been rushed through the way it was and wouldn't have fallen on its arse the way it did. I'm not sure if the timeline here has been missed or forgotten. But the thing was totally pulled apart because it was so premature.

It was pretty obvious very soon after they announced it that it wasn’t ever actually going to get off the ground. Everything from the badly written press release to the shitty logo and amateur website was laughable.

The club should’ve realised this.
