Pep has a straightener with Tebas

City were in a very difficult position and many on here appear to have forgotten this. City were fully aware that the ESL was ploy for "the Americans" to ensure that they secured a domination of football revenue permanently, but City had no reason at all to trust UEFA and every reason to believe that it would cave in and give the ESL bunch what they wanted as they had over FFPR. Only when Ceferin showed some guts and fans showed the ESL had no backing could City (with Chelsea) effectively pull the plug on the sceme by leaving the other English clubs high and dry.
Absolutely agree with this.

Or maybe they just fucked up.

Yes, I'm sure someone as well spoken and smooth as Khaldoon, and even Ferran who we heard from not that long ago agead of the CAS verdict, when they really want to sell something as big as the concept of the SL would look at it and think, yeah that shitty one sentence by Glazer looks hood enough, lets run with that on our website. Yes that's really the type of fuck-up I can find believable.

It did exactly what it was supposed to do. Some will be so entrenched they'll never see it.

And some will never respect someone else's opinion.
Then again some of us don't know the inner working of the
senior management at MCFC as clearly you do.

You see this is where I beg to differ. When it was announced it took me only a few minutes of reading about how shit it was, not just the idea of it, but the way they’d laid it out to realise it wasn’t going to get off the ground. Admittedly I didn’t think it was going to fall on its arse within 48 hours but I thought it would eventually.
All it would have took was for City to hold their nerve and we now wouldn’t be being chucked in with that lot.

Yes top contribution.

If City had held their nerve, it never would have been rushed through the way it was and wouldn't have fallen on its arse the way it did. I'm not sure if the timeline here has been missed or forgotten. But the thing was totally pulled apart because it was so premature.

Completely agree.

It was pretty obvious very soon after they announced it that it wasn’t ever actually going to get off the ground. Everything from the badly written press release to the shitty logo and amateur website was laughable.

The club should’ve realised this.
