When pep sticks his fingers in another coaches eye then and only then is the Peg's opinion relevant.
Mourinho was sent off earlier this season when he put a foot on to the pitch late on in Manchester United’s 1-0 win at Southampton.
But the United boss said he was not surprised old foe Guardiola – who yesterday apologised for his conduct - did not suffer the same fate as him and see red.
Think trying to stop a player in game time is a bit different don't you...
From the Mirror with the headline...
Jose MourinhoPEG admits he was "not surprised" Pep Guardiola escaped punishment for crazy touchline antics
Re: the tapping up element
There's an interesting excerpt from Pirlo's autobiography where he talks about wanting to play for Pep that may be relevant to some elements of this discussion.

Basically for those that don't want to read it, Pep straight up taps Pirlo up. He has a coach summon Pirlo to his office and he tries to convince him to sign. In fact hedoes so successfully.
Personally I'm not sure he's tapping Redmond up, but I post this because it's not beyond Pep to do so, therefore it merits the current discussion of whether he has any stronger intentions than just simply paying him a compliment. He does very much seem like the kind of guy that would happily stroll up to a player after a game and tell him that he wants to sign him.
The question though is is that really a problem like some people might be saying? Another part of the article I posted seems to suggest that players do just as much tapping up as anybody off the pitch.
As many of you have suggested, I believe people are just looking for a story. First it was the Pep was insulting Redmond; except that got proven false quickly enough. Then it was Pep was too over the top and that it is a punishable offence. But then I mean players scream much harsher things in each other's faces and manhandle each other all the time and nobody bats an eyelid. And now that the dust has almost settled people are looking for a new story.
I wouldn't be surprised if the next reason Pep was apparently so animated and angry is that he realised he'll get stuck in the traffic on Alan Turing Way and he's got a chicken in the oven waiting for him at home.
