Pep's contract situation

Some changes need making but not poch we need a new club leader in the mould of vinny and a new arteta to freshen things up on the training pitch xavi? Alonso?

This season mirrors Pep's first season and Vinnies was part of the squad!
Its obviously more complex than one single postion / player however City's style of play is vunerable to the counter attack, in Pep's 2nd and 3rd seasons something that Fernandinho was good at stoping. For whatever reason Pep decide to use Ferdy as a centere half leaving Rodri in the pivot role or playing a double pivot with Gudoghan. Rodri and or Gudoghan are somewhat ponerous so, not only were were more vunderable but we became slower in build up which helped opponents stop City; leting us have pocession, parking the bus and depending upon counters.
Whilst I agree that this season does indeed almost mirror his first the difference is that Vinny isn’t hear now, he could have gone much sooner in my opinion. If you think back to the League Cup tie at Old Trafford in 2016 Pep picked a really inexperienced team full of youngsters and fringe players almost in an attempt to get us out of the competition it seemed, Vinny was part of that team, it was if Pep didn’t rate him and I remember thinking that Vincent’s days were numbered. By the end of the season due to other injuries Vinny was back in the team, with about ten games to go I think. We won most of these and I believe At that time Pep then realised that Vinny was vitality important to the club. That season was like one long audition If you like this season seems the same, only difference is we have messed up not finding a suitable replacement for our former captain.

He's not bigger than the club, as I'm sure Pep would be first to admit, because he's that kind of guy. Don't believe the sensationalist over-reactions in social media, baying for change or a 'crisis'. Pep and the board will decide how long he stays, and I hope it's longer than one more season.

As for bollocks about 'wheels coming off', and meltdowns, that's not how things happen at City these days. As we all saw in the Amazon documentary Pep and the players have regular meetings and any issues with tactics will be discussed and ironed out there, not in front of some nobhead journalists waiting to fill twitter with shite.

Pochettino may be an ok replacement one day, but hopefully not for a good few years yet, and by then who knows what managers will be available. Let's hope Pep signs a new deal soon and we go about next season meaning business to get the title back and learn lessons from the last couple of CL games.
