Pep to leave at the end of the season

The team is in a good place but need a replacement for Bernardo and hope Rodri commits his future or we will need to prepare for that too.

Generally I think it's a near impossible job and requires someone with a bigger reputation. He won't be given any bedding in time and two or three bad results and people will be calling for Maresca to go.

The best to ever do it

He's saying "I have one more year". Certainly nothing in his embargoed press conference today to indicate he's leaving. Talked about the benefits of having another season to work with the new players signed since January 2025.
As are the club, but for me if rumours like this are not true you (and/or the club) would just come straight out and say you're not going anywhere. Why wouldn't you?

Just watching it was only recorded a few hours ago as well

midfield is what my brother said they went through a couple of game with knocks to important midfielders in his system and they dipped a little. Might be just because he didn't have the personnel to cover that. All I know from my brother is his system at leicester required goal scoring wingers on both wings that could get the ball to Vardy
Midfield is an issue now.

He could flop and let’s be honest, the odds are stacked against him.

The club is in a no win. They would want pep to stay another 10 seasons if possible.

Let’s try to stay level headed and get behind whomever is next. I’m sure that person will try his best.

The club with pep dominated and toppled historic clubs while dismantling their achievements. We broke football. Now we need to stay competitive. I hope the next manager or coach can do it.

Media desperate for him to be gone.
The media cant wait to see our club fail , Pep leaving , the 115 charges , they will go into overdrive now any slight negativity about our club will be front page news , Pep has shit all over the media for a decade , smashing their red 'istree clubs into oblivion , i can only salute Pep and congratulate the club for backing him to the hilt.

I am surprised it's not been announced yet. Doesn't give the fans a chance to give a proper sending off in the stadium. I would have always thought that he/club would announce him going a lot in advance.
The game isn’t till Sunday - how much notice do supporters need?

Now it has been confirmed that he is going it is time to say who we want as our next manager. For me it has to be Vincent Kompany. I hope I'm not being being foolish by saying this but I do think that given his history with us he would be an excellent choice. Could Pep have already spoken with him about it who knows but I'd like to think that after reaching such a big decision he would want to share it and gather thoughts on who he is handing the reins to. Such a sad time at the moment with Stones,Silva leaving and now the one who made so many good times real for us all. Thanks to them all from the bottom of my heart and like them move on and get the next man in. Vincent,Time to come home.

He's been saying that for months, because it's true, he has a contract.
He's never said I'm STAYING for one more year though.

The thing is we are always professional and seamless with things like this.
Maybe this official/unofficial news has leaked but whatever the outcome we will come out the other end in safe hands.
Would be great this time next week the domestic treble done, 115 put to bed and pep's future sorted out.
Keep the faith blues, we're in control and we're calling the shots.

for the second time - 6'43" in - it was recorded this afternoon and released a few minutes ago

If he does end up leaving, that's a very strange response to give, as he's been pretty consistent in saying he's staying...

Like everyone apart from Oliver Holt, I have no idea what's going to happen. But my gut feel was he'd go if we did a clean sweep of the treble, and stay for another year if we don't get the league. Despite everything today I've not seen enough to change my opinion.

Chelsea fan I know, who knows his stuff, said they looked very good with plan A most of the time, Maresca’s weakness is having a plan B in-game when something goes wrong.

Ironically that’s what one or two have said about Pep in the heat of the moment.
One or two???!

I think he/she suggested Pep wouldn’t want to leave the new manager with good players because he wants to hog City’s success to himself.

Absurd on every level and the opposite of the great place he’s leaving us in.
Not far off.

If Pep was staying long term, I believe Bernardo who has years left in him would have signed a new contract, Ederson playing style was instrumental in how Pep teams play so it was odd that we then signed Donnarumma. Rodri and Foden would have a new contract by now. Gvardiol, Doku and Nunes have been here 3 seasons and not got a new contract yet. 12 players that’s half the squad have only been here 18 months or less.

We could lose a lot of experienced players not just Bernardo and Stones.

Maresca if indeed he does take over then he will need to not just get players in this summer, but get a lot of players signed onto new contracts.
