I don't think that many people in the greater scheme of things are going to travel that far just because the manager is leaving, regardless of how well liked he is. Apart from anything else it's all just speculation, not you, I, or anybody else knows when it's going to be announced.
A full pre-season is all any new manager could reasonably want, and if it's Maresca remember he's already had two years at City.

Of course he's made his mind up. Many of us saw through the "I'm staying interviews" before the Holt article. You then have the Bernardo interview after the FA Cup where he didn't shut down talk of him leaving (Guehi as well I think). And then all the talk around Maresca, and not just that he might takeover but length of contract etc.
Perhaps it's something really weird, like the club have decided when they are going to announce it and have made plans around that date and are not going to change them just because some twat leaked it to the press? Just guessing.
So how do you think other managers cope who don't come in until the start of the following season, or come in half way through the season, or come in with a few games to go to try to save a club from the drop? If Maresca is coming in he's got the massive advantage of having worked with the club in the fairly recent past, he knows the place inside out, he knows a lot of the players and he most likely has been in discussions and making plans for months anyway. This all sounds as though it was decided months ago and I think it's likely that Pep even recommended him.
I don't think he is, I think it will be official on Sunday before the Villa game which gives us that game, the parade and the Co-op event to say good bye.
