Pep to leave at the end of the season

And if they leave it until the very last minute what difference is it going to make? It's not going to radically change the attendance on Sunday when it's most likely going to be announced.
Maybe fans would like to make banners maybe fans have decided not to go but would have gone if they knew it was peps last game? Maybe fans would buy tickets I the knew its his last game? Also if they leave it till after the game people are still I the dark. A Monday send off again doesn't leave people much time fans thst live far away might like to attend? Don't think 12k at the co op will cut it.

Are you new? For the past week Blues have been saying he's staying because he says he is staying!
One example.
Her "Do you reckon you will be here next season?"
Pep "Yeah?"
Her "Definitely?"
Pep " I am here, I have a contract"

If you want the club to remain in control of the narrative and to announce it when THEY have planned to do so, not the media, then those are exactly the words you're going to use. It's as simple as that.

Just had a text from a mate who always seems to text the day before an announcement saying tomorrow and #SoSonotgood.
But this goes against everything Pep has openly said. If he leaves which is obviously very likely it will be after speaking to Khaldoon unless because of the media attention has now happened via a phone call but doesn't seem like how it would end with Pep

It is quite emotional subject for many City fans as we love the fella. I appreciate you and some others have wanted him out for some time and you’re probably happy or not arsed one bit, but for many that is not the case. For me the comms around this has been pretty poor.
Wouldn’t waste your time, there are rules on here.

Apparently we should be delighted that our greatest ever manager is leaving and just accept it for what it is.

We should also all be patient and wait until potentially Sunday for official comms. I mean we all have work, commitments etc, Id personally like to have more than 24hrs notice to be able to make sure I get the opportunity to attend.

Looks like we all have to grateful about the possibility of Maresca coming in too. Clubs decision and on Pep’s recommendation.

Double standards everywhere.

I don't think that many people in the greater scheme of things are going to travel that far just because the manager is leaving, regardless of how well liked he is. Apart from anything else it's all just speculation, not you, I, or anybody else knows when it's going to be announced.

Or IF

Just google “Leicester fans not happy with Maresca” or replace Leicester with Chelsea and you’ll see a lot of fans were not enamoured with him.

It’s a far cry from those Leicester and Chelsea fans you have “talked to”, think there’s an element of being economical with the truth in your post, seems a bit subjective.
LOL If you're using google for genuine factual answers, heaven help you. All the search does it pick up what's been posted.

Well maybe he hasn't made his mind up then?
Of course he's made his mind up. Many of us saw through the "I'm staying interviews" before the Holt article. You then have the Bernardo interview after the FA Cup where he didn't shut down talk of him leaving (Guehi as well I think). And then all the talk around Maresca, and not just that he might takeover but length of contract etc.
I swear some of you will still believe he's staying even when he's not on the touchline next season!

Can't for the life of me figure out what the delay in the formal announcement is all about. There signs have been there for ages, he flogged his restaurant, he's bought a new home in barca, his background staff are leaving any day now, rumours his apartment lease is due to expire. There isn't anything of substance to imply he's staying. So what is the reason for this delay, we're not a public company so there's no regulatory reason it has to been managed. It cant be to secure transfers, please sign to play under Pep, oh sorry he's gone, we forgot to mention it. The title has gone so no impact on a last day showdown, so wtf is going on. Have CFC thrown a legal spanner in the works re Maresca contract? ie we dont want to announce Pep has gone until Maresca is 100% done and the lawyers (YET AGAIN !) are trying to reach a settlement..
Perhaps it's something really weird, like the club have decided when they are going to announce it and have made plans around that date and are not going to change them just because some twat leaked it to the press? Just guessing.

To be fair if you look at Maresca and squint it will be just like Pep is still there!

Sorry - but you were the third or fourth to query what I assumed was an obvious point.

What you lightly dismiss as the 'only difference' is an absolute game-changer. With a new squad of players, a new coach will be learning not only about their individual playing strengths and weaknesses, but also about the relationships that they all have between each other. We've all seen players that excel in the company of some, but struggle when playing with others. He can't glean any of that from Opta stats.

A huge ask in such a short amount of time.
So how do you think other managers cope who don't come in until the start of the following season, or come in half way through the season, or come in with a few games to go to try to save a club from the drop? If Maresca is coming in he's got the massive advantage of having worked with the club in the fairly recent past, he knows the place inside out, he knows a lot of the players and he most likely has been in discussions and making plans for months anyway. This all sounds as though it was decided months ago and I think it's likely that Pep even recommended him.

That a hell of an advantage compared with 99% of other managers. When SHOULD a manager take over if not at the end of a season? I can't think of a better time.

After 10 years and 20 trophies, is he really going to just do a Columbo on us and say "Oh. Just one more thing ... I'm off!"

I highly doubt it.
I don't think he is, I think it will be official on Sunday before the Villa game which gives us that game, the parade and the Co-op event to say good bye.
It's a good strategy IMO, it tends to not work out well when managers announce in advance they are leaving.
