I often read on here about teams 'setting up' like this against us, but having watched the match involved that's not always been the reason that we faced two lines of defence.
More often than not it's because of our slow build-up allowing the opposition to get back into position - I mean, what else are they supposed to do? Stand on the halfway line and watch us approach their area?
When the opposition are slow in their build-up, we also get behind the ball, but I never hear anybody on here ask 'why are we parking the bus?'
In Erling's first season, we did play at a proper tempo and he scored 50+. It wasn't a case of teams learning how play against us - obviously they all knew all about him from his Dortmund days - but after the World Cup break we changed how we played and have never gone back to that tempo. It worked out well, naturally, with the treble, but with fewer weapons these days we need to exploit him more, and that means pace.
If Sky still did 'playercam' it would be an eye-opener just watching how many times there are chances to play him in that are ignored.
