Pep to leave at the end of the season

I’m not sure Pep is burnt out - he still seems to be full of piss and vinegar when he’s being interviewed. What I am sure of though is that we failed to replace the World Class players you mentioned (and others) with players of like quality and that’s why we are struggling.
I think thats just an excuse tbh, with the players we have we should still be beating the likes of Forest, West Ham & Bodo. I would also say the transfers we have brought in have no relevance to Pep playing players in positions they shouldn't be playing nor do they have any relevance to Peps ridiculous choice of substitutions.

1. Vinny. 2. Enrique 3. Alonso

4 onwards. I don't give a fuck.

One thing I'll say. There's fuck all chance that the club are putting Maresca in charge of this squad in the summer of 2027.
I don’t think any elite coach will want to follow Guardiola straight away, his stature, who he is in the game. There’s a decent saying about not succeeding a great leader and that feels apt here.

I like the choices but can’t see it with Vinny straight away, he’ll be our manager one day but I doubt the club will want him succeeding Pep, the legends model not exactly been a massive success at other top PL clubs.

Enrique has spoken about his ambitions of working in the Prem at some point in his career but would you leave PSG now?

Suspect the scousers nab Xabi

I’ve got a feeling they might appoint Maresca. Hope you are right thought but it wouldn’t surprise me. Would feel almost Pellegrini esque and would perhaps put you in a position to pitch an elite coach in say a couple years time.

Hope Pep does do the extra year because I suspect the managerial market will be better come 2027

Didn’t stop Slot following Klopp and winning the league mate.

Viana Won’t be able to completely control that process. You can bet Soriano and Khaldoon will be part of that interview process.

They will be, but as sporting director, it's Viana and his remit that ultimately holds final say.

That's what he is in part paid to do.

Don't agree, especially not if we pick well. I think we need a manager who likes playing stylish stuff but has more of a mediator/diplomat vibe about him. Enrique would be perfect for this. For the last 10 years or so, wherever he goes he tends to do 2-3 years, keeps things ticking over (or in the case of PSG actually elevates them), then hands it off to the next guy. In many ways the Barca side Enrique built after Pep was just as exciting as the 2008-2012 team, just in different ways.

He'd be like Pellegrini but better - I wouldn't say Pelllegrini failed either. He definitely missed an opportunity to start a PL dynasty, with Ferguson gone, but with hindsight he did alright. In the end it seems he was brought in to calm things down after the way Mancini's tenure ended, keep the seat warm while we sweetened Pep up and changed the way the club was run, and then bow out. Keeping us in the top four, winning a title, and getting a couple of cups was fair enough in the end.

Enrique can do better than that, even after Pep.

There's basically zero examples in the modern game of a legendary manager leaving and then the next guy not instantly flopping and being sacked within 18 months

I think it will be a consensus decision. My feeling is they will view Viana as to inexperienced to make that decision on his own. I don't think he has the level of power that you suggest.

If Soriano is part of the process Vinny will need to pass an Advanced Excel test and expect to be grilled on how he intends to raise match day revenue

Pep has been the best ever in the prem, but because of his mediocre return (by elite standards) in the champions league, i don't think you can say he's been the best ever overall
He has won 3 X CL though. Not sure too many have. Although only one whilst in the PL.

Why do some of you think it’s going to be difficult to convince a good manager?

We’re probably the most attractive proposition for any manager. 10 years without being sacked Pep has had. The most supportive board, the best internal set up to achieve success.

We have some brilliant players, we’re 2nd in the league, even after a massive rebuild, in a final for the 2nd year in a row despite said rebuild.

Kompany with his ties to the club and marital ties to the city would die to come back here.
