Pep to leave at the end of the season

I do feel Pep would not want the players he has largely relied upon during his tenure to be part of the replacement managers squad. He may see that as new manger benefitting from his players. Left important players needing new contracts or out of contract and leave the players to decide if they stay.

The players that were instrumental in our most successful period have either already left or are out of contract. De Bruyne, Walker, Ederson and Gundogan have already gone. Stones is out of contract and fucked due to injuries. Bernardo is over 30 and has given us longer than he wanted. We've had the best years out of him. Rodri's contract is finishing and although we have seen flashes of his old self there is no guarantee he will be the same player again.
All the above I've mentioned shows some mad idea that Pep wouldn't want his players here after he's gone to be just that, mad.

No one can replace Pep, he’s the best manager of all time.

However, I’m extremely underwhelmed by Maresca. I’d hoped for Klopp, Enrique, Emery. Hope he proves me very wrong.
Klopp wouldn’t come here or any other PL team and Enrique isn’t available.
I won’t lie I wanted Enrique or Kompany but neither are available, for now at least.
So he’s probably the best available imo.
If it doesn’t work then maybe we’d have a better shot at Enrique or Kompany in a year or two.
Then again with the way we’re set up we might not need them if Maresca does a good job.

Rumour , rumour , rumour , when i hear or read something official from the club then i will believe it , in the meantime we have Bournemouth and Villa and a league title to win , at least the media headlines will usurp the Goons win against Burnley , didnt watch the game but looks like a decent effort from our six fingered friends.
It wasn’t great from Burnley , it was more that arsenal are shit, as was the ref and var

Maresca knows very well how we play and the locker room and stuff, you got to give him some time and benefit of the doubt. I think he will make the obvious adjustment that is more direct balls to Haaland.

Pep will ride into the sunset coaching a national team if he has the chance at a good one

I think he/she suggested Pep wouldn’t want to leave the new manager with good players because he wants to hog City’s success to himself.

Absurd on every level and the opposite of the great place he’s leaving us in.
If anything it appears Pep has probably worked hard to ensure the new manager would have a great core to work with

More than rumours this unfortunately!

Chelsea fan I know, who knows his stuff, said they looked very good with plan A most of the time, Maresca’s weakness is having a plan B in-game when something goes wrong.

Ironically that’s what one or two have said about Pep in the heat of the moment.
When I watched them, I didn't see that much of a Plan A but a Chelsea fan would obviously know a lot more. I'm hoping we don't find out who was right but the odds say otherwise.

My brother said the exact same thing. No plan B at Leicester
He might learn that with time. The Chelsea fan says he did set them up very well most of the time and they played decent stuff. He used the red card for Sanchez away at Utd as an example of where he made the wrong subs and it cost them.

Been reading a book all night as turned the football off when the arse scored. Logged on to see the score and saw 40 odd page jump and this thread and wondered what on earth has happened.
Nine o'clock on a Monday night and it's in the mail and everywhere else now. Can't imagine Pep or the club will be happy.
I am not happy either, would much prefer he stayed. Hope it isn't true.

I must admit when, during that first season, Everton smashed us 4-0 at Goodison and even that useless wanker Tom Davies scored against us, I never for a moment thought that Pep would go on to lead City to 20 trophies. The end of an era. I just wish it would have been leaked out after the Bournemouth game.
