Pep's contract situation | 2 year extension confirmed! (pg1817)

No idea but I heard on the radio a few weeks ago Argentina want him eventually to be their National Manager. Makes a lot of sense, Pep can return home to Catalunia, monitor the players who are mostly European based, Spanish lingo and obviously fly in and out for International games in two week blocks. Will be ideal for him and not as intense on a weekly basis, just hope and pray he gives us at least another 2 years and hopefully 3, it's football on a different planet compared to most Managers.

International management is way beneath him. It's basically semi-retirement. He seems to love working day-to-day with the players so he will look for a "proper" job when he does move on. I can't see it happening until he's won the Champions League with us so I expect maybe a 12 month extension.

He will be slaughtered by their media if he bases himself in Europe.

Really hope he gets this sorted ASAP Would be really difficult going into next season in Arsenal mould. Will he wont stay? Hope when he goes to see the owner ,if that happens at the end of this campaign hope we convince Pep that for at least two seasons after next, his future is CITY NO BRAKE CLAUSES PLEASE

If he's extending for a year, great.

If he's not, we need to know as soon as possible. We can't have any uncertainty going into next season.

Hopefully the club will make an announcement immediately after the Southampton game.

Yeh i hope he stays for atleast 2 more seasons and we win that cl finally. Can´t even imagine who could replace him ,but we wont probably see that kind of domination ever again lol ,which doesn´t mean we won´t win many titles.

I'd be surprised if he's not here a couple more years. We have young players who will only improve and I think he'll want to oversee that. This squad has more to give (frightening!!). I think two more years and then he might feel his message is stale and he'll go.

I accept your opinion, I just feel differently. Just because he didn't stop at Barca or Bayern doesn't mean he won't want to stay at City as much as it pains fans of Barca and Bayern. There will always be new challenges at Premier League clubs that managers won't get abroad due to it being so much more competitive than most other leagues; back to back titles, domestic treble, Champions League with our ridiculous scheduling, League and Champs League double etc etc.

One good thing is, when he leaves, whoever comes in will be left with a fantastic squad which other managers haven't managed to do previously for us.

Just saying, these arguments were articulated at Barcelona, Bayern and now City - concur that they all are valid/acceptable opinions but experience has shown Pep is nomadic

I think he will only sign 1 year deals and see how he feels each year whether he ends up here 2 years or 5 only time and success or otherwise will determine
