Pep's contract situation | 2 year extension confirmed! (pg1817)

Peo: "This is sport. Sport is not always sunrises. It is not always good moments.

Today in the press conference I was asked if it was the end of the era. I know people want that. I smell it for many, many years.

What we have done in these years, people have said it’s so difficult, but if somebody would like to beat us it is going to happen because in the next 50 years we're not going to win all the Premier Leagues. It's impossible."

"We are not able to do 90 minutes right now.

We played a really good first half, but we were not able to sustain the rhythm in the second half.

We lost again so [we will] clear our heads [in the] international break and hopefully our players come back fit.

When the players come back, I don't have any doubt that we will be back to our best."
If there was the slightest doubt about Pep and what an incredible coach he is that was put to bed in the first 45 mins.

That was some performance from a tired, injured and very weak eleven players, we dominated Brighton and a very good Brighton..

Second half we were gassed that was very obvious.

Well in Pep.

Because it looks like people here have already given up. And are more focused on having something to be excited about next season and summer transfer window, than caring about how we win the next game. With some two thirds of the season left.

That's why.
I understand that though, since there isn’t a solution to our midfield that doesn’t involve investment. We have Gundo 34, Kovacic 30, KDB 33, Bernardo 30, and they will remain our midfield until investment or until Rodri is back, whichever comes first. So to me, that is why people are looking to the transfer windows. We will obviously win some games, we’re not going to just keep losing until the summer, but the problems will persist until then.

Great post. Although I thought you might have included your namesake Oscar Bobb in that first XI! I really think that Pep will not want to leave things as they are now. He will want to do one more rebuild to leave the club in a strong position for the new manager, a bit like Klopp did with Liverpool. We don’t want an example like Fergie. For this reason I think we will have at least 2 more years of Pep with maybe an assistant manager ready to takeover or someone outside ready to step in. In some respects our current problems make it more likely he will stay.
To do this the club need a commitment. Extending his time with City would be a lift for everyone. An additional year would help at a time when we are already losing our Director of Football and a key allie of Peps. The club might already have a different idea on what the future looks like. Interesting times...

Exactly !!!

I hope he signs and comes up with another system that doesn’t include a high line the amount of times this has been our downfall and not having the pace to recover. Come on Pep sort it.

A lot of teams play the pep way think the difference is some these managers change it up in games Pep will not budge from playing a high line and press the opposition! Teams now can pass through our press which majority of team couldn't do few years back!

It really is the elephant in the room this situation. My gut instinct is that the players already know his decision and he's calling it a day after the summer tournament. I'm expecting news in this international break
I got told yesterday that he’s not extending by someone who has dealings with players, I’m not saying he’s right and I hope he’s wrong but, if it is the case it needs to be announced asap and then we can get to terms with it, the indecision helps no one.

Edit*
Reading his quotes sounds like he’s going nowhere … hope so, just extend for a longer deal Pep.
