Pep's contract situation | 2 year extension confirmed! (pg1817)

Possibly true but that would be the wrong decision.

City come first and he's living off the 17/18 season unfortunately. We can't be the next Arsenal, clinging onto Wenger because of past achievements.

The relevant question is, does he have a plan to win things in the future and seeing Gundogan/Rodri in midfield suggests to me that the plan he has will definitely not work.
What difference does one season make anyways?? He can play however he wants we respect his contract and respectfully say goodbye. He was won is two PL if you are forgetting.

Not many people that want Pep sacked suggesting a better manager. You know...like someone who has won more.

I'll look out for the plan. I'm sure it's coming...

You do know our next manager doesn't have to be a manager with a giant CV of trophies on it don't you? It could be a young exciting manager who is ready to make the step up to a big club for example. If we're only going to be replacing managers with managers who have won more then our options are Mircea Lucescu and Bacon Face.

not allowed to question pep ... are we?
Well i will. His arrogance is to the detriment of the club now. A string of bad signings , picking the same slow players and our best players (who other managers signed) have reired/moved on.

every great team has its cycle, pep has completed his, thanks for 2 amazing seasons, plus 2 very forgettable ones.

thanks pep, time to move on

If Dias had headed that Gundogan cross or Sterling slotted home that 1v1, people wouldn’t be mentioning Pep
We should have won the game, but the overall performance was bad. It’s the same slow, sideways predictable players that pep seems so stuck on, he just doesn’t seem to even entertain trying anything else.

I know what I see on match days though and there are players who don’t deserve to be in that starting eleven game in game out regardless.
I agree. But not like we have much other option in certain areas. If he played youngsters and start losing people would complain about that too. Again what he sees in training might give him a reason to pick a certain player.

For me I am not even thinking if Pep will sign or not. I am asking myself, can another manager get more out of this team. What would they do different.

Persisting with Gundogan and Mahrez etc should be seriously questioning. Never mind putting fucking Zinchenko on when we need to win the game.

He needs to commit either way. I hope he stays but if he isn’t we need to put things in place. It’s slim pickings for managers at the moment and I can see United and Real Madrid in the market for a manger in the next 3 months.

Any other manager who is not a genius will probably look at bench and pick Torres with the game tied.

What we all know from following City in recent years is that we go through patches like this at times. Happened with Mancini, Pellers, and now Pep.

It’s like a familiar sort of “identity crisis” that lurks in the background. What’s harder to accept this time though, is that the club (and indeed many of us fans) thought we’d finally found our long term identity with this possession-based, attacking football that Pep’s known for. But there again, the same identity problem crops up.

I take some comfort from the fact that, whatever happens, these periods have always been followed by some kind of exciting “shake up”. It could be a new manager, new tactics, new players. I think it’ll be a tough few months, and possibly a tough season, but on the other side of this we’ll hopefully be back in the stadium and watching something refreshing and new

I don’t think anyone watching this season sees anything from Mahrez that suggests he is worth a place every week. Torres must have been buzzing after weds night and full of confidence and for some bizarre reason doesn’t even get on as a sub. There is an obvious option straight away. Foden added instant energy and directness we lacked both on weds and today, there is another option.

Said it after the Lyon game, any other club that aims for the CL would have fired him then and there. On here you get called all sorts if you even question him.

Agree to an extent, however if mahrez would have finished one of his chances we would have all said it was a good game lol mahrez was causing them issues especially after kdb came on as was sterling but sadly neither finished.

Maybe we are not a club that rushes changes like other? Maybe there are lack of options to replace him with. I personally don’t want to see city end up like United and have 4-5coaches after pep leaves to even have a chance at the title. I trust the club will do the right thing and not rush into silly decisions. Hell zidane lost so I guess you would fire him right away too right?

I'm not advocating it,but it's pretty flat to be fair, disagreeing is being way too blinkered
If behind the scenes he’s having a hard time, and there’s many reasons to believe this to be true, but he wants to be here, I think he deserves the full support of everyone. Even if that means this season might be up and down.
I want him at the helm because I still believe he’s the best man for the job. When I stop thinking that he’ll get my thanks and a goodbye good luck.
Seeing posters turn on him how they are atm is pretty grim.

Too much has gone on,losing his mother must still have a serious effect, but if there is no enthusiasm from the leader we might as well all fuck off and cry
