Pep's contract situation | 2 year extension confirmed! (pg1817)

If this is going to happen it'd be excellent for it to happen even sooner, quite honestly. Sign it tomorrow, show players, fans and media that this is a long term plan that all parties are committed to while things are not going totally smoothly.

If true then this is great news IMO. Even better would be if he signed that extension now and City announce it to the world - that would be the biggest fuck you to every so-called expert who has been predicting that he will chuck the towel in before long.

It would be very interesting to hear how the hierachy now view the rest of this season?

Are they content to take a hit? a season of transition? or is the chequebook coming out in the next few days?

I suspect it will be a mental summer.
I am expecting an Erikssoneque type summer with signing after signing

Great news. It took Fergurson 6 or 7 years to get things right for the Shite and some people are writing Guardiola off after a dodgy three month spell!

He's adjusting to the league and learning. There will be bumps along the way, but I trust him to get it right. He's not a hired gun manager here to win tophies and then walk off in to the sunset. He's about building legacies and changing the football identity of the club.

I wouldn't want any other manager at City. He's the perfect manager to oversee the development of Sterling, Garcia, Sane and Gabriel Jesus. They could be the bedrock of a really special team in the future.

Let's not forget that in his last two clubs, as good as they were, both were member-owned and he had to work in an environment where he was answerable to people who always had an eye on elections. So he had ot manage upwards as well as manage the team. At City, he doesn't have that pressure as he's working in a management structure where he's fully backed by the executive and board and working with two key people he's comfortable with.

Along with others I'm not convinced those two have done a great job at all since they arrived but the proof of the pudding will be seen over the next few years.

I hope Pep sees this period as trial and error, we all know how long it it took Baconface to get a team together. Are we being too expectant too early? Maybe we are, but with such resources and backing Pep really needs to deliver. I hope he's regretting buying Bravo, IMO he's absolutely dogshit. The stats speak for themselves. 22 shots faced, goals conceded 14!!!! Goalkeeper or footballer??? I would rather have a goalkeeper who doesn't look like a frightened child between the posts and who, when the ball is fired at him that you don't have to close your eyes wondering if he will stop it. Teams must be relishing to play us knowing if they get into range and shoot, they'll more than likely score.
