Tuchel only signs 18 months. He did at Chelsea. It’s ALL speculation at the moment. I actually didn’t think he looked tired. The only certainty I take from his interviews is that at some time in the future he’d like to be a national manager as it gives him more down time.
If we like speculation - maybe that’s why they’ve only given Tuchel an 18 month contract :-)
Finally have something to actually moan aboutWhen Pep finally goes, what the bloody hell are the doom merchants on here going to do?
I think it’s time now to decide it’s just the story now it’s taking over from the team and football.Be the same next Friday. The latest pep interview will not do anything to quell the speculation. He looked tired today or maybe he is just sick of chat that surrounds his contract.
For sporting reasons I understand why he won’t sign long term so the media questions is just something he has to put up with unfortunately.
I get the feeling that the end is near. I was hoping that he would just carry on signing rolling deals but with Txiki leaving and having conquered all before him maybe he thinks it’s time.
Does he have the hunger to go again? Is a changing of the guard on the way? Either way we need to enjoy the remaining time left.
Fuck this place is going to be mental when he goes.
Yeah. It fits in nicely doesn’t it - if one likes to speculate:-)Tuchel only signs 18 months. He did at Chelsea.
Most likely yes but not inevitably so. I recall (in my dim/distant youth) the scousers having similar concerns when Bill Shankley retired but Paisley was actually more successful. Sorry to pollute the thread with liverpool talk but it was the best example i could conjure upThe best manager of his generation and one of the all time greats, we are witnessing history and for me there will be a big drop and understandably so.

"Granted we might not have the Guardiola consistency"Incredibly pessimistic
We don’t give the club enough credit for the elite infrastructure we have built. A very well oiled machine. We aren’t Pep Guardiola FC.
I think we can get to the level of Real Madrid/ Bayern when we can see periods of general success for prolonged periods, competing for big honours on a consistent basis. Granted we might not have the Guardiola consistency but I think we can stay at table of the big boys.
We’ve had the blueprint of how not to do with the rags and Arsenal.
The time for the club to really kick on and build on this unprecedented era is when Pep leaves.
We’ll be there or there abouts. Not 4 in a row."Granted we might not have the Guardiola consistency"
That's the point I should have made, we are not going to fall off a cliff in terms of a club but winning 4 titles on the bounce is a simply incredible feat and much of it down to the genius of Pep.
We will be losing many players in the next season regardless if Pep stays or not. We’ll be there or there abouts. Not 4 in a row.
I’m convinced some think our entire squad is following Pep out the door too
Maybe we could buy some new onesWe will be losing many players in the next season regardless if Pep stays or not.
Walker, Bernardo, KDB, Gundo all very near their end of their time with us.
Or the rags when fergie left and moyes took over :)Most likely yes but not inevitably so. Once Frank wins a quarter as much as Peps has he can chew gum any way he wants.Always found it weird Pep spits. If someone did that in the street you'd call them a dirty c**t
Who is amiron ? And why are people adding two and two together , they dont have to come as a pairDont see if being Alonso personally as i think Viana will want Amiron in and he`s out of contract 2026 so can see Pep doing one more season to make it 10 and help Viana settle in.
Did I read something on here about if pep wants to do club World Cup he would need to extend for a year. Can’t see him missing out on that.Dont see if being Alonso personally as i think Viana will want Amiron in and he`s out of contract 2026 so can see Pep doing one more season to make it 10 and help Viana settle in.
He'd only need to extend for a month at most. Can't see him missing out on that if he has decided to go, but still expect him to extend his contract anywayDid I read something on here about if pep wants to do club World Cup he would need to extend for a year. Can’t see him missing out on that.
The problem with Pep theoretically staying just for the Club World Cup is that the tournament will effectively be a huge part of the pre-season for 2025-26 and it may cause issues with finding a new manager who wants to bring in his own people and have as much time as possible with the squad to put his own imprint on things. He'd only need to extend for a month at most. Just watched Pep’s pre-match presser.
He gives nothing away but if had to bet I think this is his last season… just a gut feel.
I’d like him to do one more and City appoint Amorim then. I can’t see him staying beyond next season at all.
