Pep's contract situation | 2 year extension confirmed! (pg1817)

That’s exactly what I had in mind. Can’t rule it out I suppose.

Obviously hope Pep stays above all else though!
Looking at that scenario happening I do think it’s possible more if it was Xavi coming in, not saying that he is a better choice than Alonso but more feasible in the circumstances mentioned.

I’ve watched Leverkusen for the past year and a half
Xabi Alonso is an incredibly overrated manager. Fluke comes to mind with last season.

Worse in game management than Arteta. Madrid are welcome to him.

Pep Knows his future plans and 100% the club also knows them as well.
City can not wait for Pep to make his mind up and then for him to say he's leaving right now in the summer

it's all been worked out by now with Pep staying or Leaving, City will have even chosen his replacement if he's leaving that's how football works, Normally 6 months of planning by the club, Pep would not disrespect the owners and the Club and just up and leave without any notice.

They don’t in my opinion.

My thoughts exactly

Yesterday I read on here that Brazil hadn’t been in touch with Pep for a couple of years. Today on the BBC website it says they have been in touch several times this year and hope to convince Pep to take the job.

So, what is it ? One, the other or neither ?

Reading in between the lines regarding peps contract with his latest say on it "what is best for Man City" he added to his answer to the question of his contract situation! He hasn't said that before when talking about renewing! It tells me City are looking or talking to a manager and if this manager says yes pep will not renew!
Yes I agree. I think it will all be about when our next manager Alonso or whoever say when they want to take over too . . .

100% both Pep and the Club KNOWS, It's how football works for the best manager and best club
Why are they sitting on it then? Many people are saying no decision. You get the new manager when you are sure Pep isn’t staying

You’re just going off at a tangent. There’s nothing QUITE CLEARLY about this issue.
Stop being patronising.

People leak ALL the time, if the club knew for sure I think it would be out there. Talk of the one year, Pep going to Brazil, leaving City, 1+1 implies no one knows.

I had convinced myself he was going to do at least another year, now I’m not so sure. If he was committed surely announcing it now would improve the morale. No way they will announce he is leaving in the same way as Klopp did last year as it has a negative impact on the team. I think he may stay if we receive a punitive punishment over the 115 just to prove a point & have a soap box to have his say. If we are found not guilty I fear he may call it quits

I’m not being as patronising as you actually. Your opinions are fine but that’s what they are - negative opinions about the best run club in the world.

The 115 decision won't be until next year which would put us in exactly the same situation as the Klopp announcement

I think it is an interesting situation for Guardiola regarding his contract. I think he has a very good relationship with the club so that there are no issues there. Klopp, in contrast, was I think very and increasingly unhappy with Liverpool owners who I think pushed players he didn't want onto him and even wanted to tailor his strategy/tactics.

So that once he had enough Klopp decided to pull the plug.

I also think that Guardiola wants to continue working as a football manager. I think that an important question for him would perhaps be whether there is something more he can still accomplish in England given his great success. It is also important that there are not many places where he could actually go. In Spain I think he could only go back to Barcelona, but he managed and did that already and he can always go back there. I think that going to Italy would be a step down for him in terms of the competition/league he would work in.

I guess an important question is whether Barcelona and the people there start crying for him to get back. I don't know about that. I don't think he would do that without giving notice and making a plan with the club he has, and has had, a good relationship with.

But he also didn't renew his contract. So that perhaps he has some sort of thoughts/ideas. Perhaps he wanted to get clarity on the trial/accusations. So that he waited for that.
