Pep's contract situation | 2 year extension confirmed! (pg1817)

We've gone over this a million times already, no it wasn't Pep's fault that Sterling missed. But Pep played a signficant part in us being 2-1 down in the 85th minute and needing Sterling to score that goal...
I mean I could go on also..Walker should have tracked back for that goal and Ederson should have held the ball it is as simple as that...Forgot scoring chances you cannot make simple mistakes like that and except to win...they had three chances (some of which we handed to them) and they took them...we had more chances and could not convert. IT is as simple as that.

You’re entitled to you opinion and so am I. On this occasion they are not the same but in no way whatsoever am I thinking small time. Yes the Champions League eludes Pep at City but that should not negate everything he has achieved - which happens to be more than any other Manchester City manager has ever done. So sure, sack him.

No one is negating what he has achieved or dismissing it. He has been very good for us and quite rightly is the best manager we have ever had, but he has a job to do and he’s not fulfilling his obligations.

Thats not my opinion, it’s a fact.

Any manager who is hired by Manchester City HAS to win the champions league, not every season but after 4 years and £750m spent questions will be asked and decisions will be made because what is the alternative? Give him another £250m and take his spending to a billion and see if he can fulfil it next year? When does it end?

That is why people are talking about whether he is right for us, not getting spoilt or forgetting what he had achieved. Take the emotion out of it and it’s a business decision.

Answer me this for me please, would Poch at Madrid and Klopp at Bayern get 5 years and a billion pounds to spend with no Champions League trophy? If the answer is no then why are we any different?

If United sacked Ferguson after every less than stellar season or after any particularly stupid cup elimination he would have been sacked 20 times at least.

If next season things continue on a downward trend, then fine, there's a discussion to be had. Or if this season had been a Mourinho at Chelsea level catastrophe, then sure, ask away. But sacking a manager one year off of a unprecedented domestic treble without any room for a turnaround is the kind of arrogant thing many of the clubs we profess to hate do for fun.

Some of you should try showing a bit of loyalty to the most successful ever manager of Manchester City. To turn on him so easily is in such poor taste.

He either extends or leaves, have some horrible feelings of a Pellegrini type season coming up if we go into it with nothing been done.

Every week he will be asked about, I am sure the current squad as well as future players want to know.

Not ideal for him to sign an extension off the back of this loss but honestly it would be for the best if we know either way.

The two situations are in no way comparable.

So we should've had it won before that happened then? The foul on Laporte leading to their seconds means nowt?

Tonight is desperately disappointing, but i think we're letting our disappointment cloud our judgement somewhat.

Pep is still a great manager. Almost any other club in the world would welcome him.
We'd look stupid and ungrateful if we sacked him.

He's not perfect, of course. Completely over-thought things tonight. But his overall record with City is still pretty incredible.

Sack him and he’ll be welcomed back at Barcelona as the second coming of the Messiah

Klopp didn’t win ANYTHING at Liverpool for 3 and a half years. How did he keep his job?

Trophy after Trophy after Trophy the guy has delivered and after reading the post match thread and this one it seems a hell of a lot of posters want him gone. So apart from wanting to get rid of probably one of the greatest managers ever, Who the fuck do you want to replace him?
As it stands, we’re going to have to replace him in 10 months’ time anyway, so having to identify a successor shouldn’t have any bearing on the decision.
