Pep's contract situation | 2 year extension confirmed! (pg1817)

When you say melted, do you mean throw your arms round him in a tight cuddle and tell him everything would be fine? Did he admit to his errors through sobs with shoulders heaving?
Just trying to paint a mental picture of the encounter ;-)

Are you asking if wood was involved?

Surely if he extends for another 12 months, we'll be in the same bloody boat in 12 months time. I say we just keep schtum about how long he's staying!!
Plenty have had rolling 1 year contracts in the past (including Pep I think), I don't know why people think it's difficult to work with. What doesn't work is a coach saying I'm off at the end of the season, or a club saying it's over at the end of the season, that creates uncertainty.

One thing we don't know, but the club will, is what Pep has decided he's doing, it will have been discussed at great length I'm sure, especially with his mates at the club.

The difference is, it's more often than the employee who leaves.

I very much doubt that City's hierarchy have lost trust in Pep.
Not in question he is by far the best coach out there. His only option in my opinion if he leaves is to coach Spain because he knows what all the other top teams in European football have been conspiring since he got here, not even convinced he wants the Spain job due to his Catalonian beliefs, in short I am convinced he will extend.

Given his attitude to Spain with reference Catalonia, the last place he'll be headed is to the Spain job, I doubt very much that the Spanish government would allow the Spanish FA appoint him.

yes, eeerm no ,i had to unload the bags :), but i did cuddle peps bag.

on the subject of footballers and planes,i had to meet the united flight today, and as the plane taxied onto the stand i gave a rousing rendition of THE FAMOUS MAN UNITED WENT TO ROME TO SEE THE POPE, to the horror of my united fan team mates hahaha

i was down on pep as well, the next day instead of finishing work at 2pm i had to stay until we had met the city plane coming back from portugal,i was not a happy bunny,i was waiting at the bottom of the stairs when the players got off,i wasnt going to say anything because thats more than my jobs worth, first staff member off the plane that i knew was pep, i looked at him ready to give that you fucked up and im not very happy look,he looked at me ,and i fucking melted,so we fucked up in the champs league, he has again provided a Manchester city team I'm so proud of, great football, exciting moments , lots of goals and silverware ,so fuck it, i was pissed off with pep and the team, but not anymore.
I know it's seen as happy clappy, but he is the reason we are where we are. I know people will say it's money, but we know that's not all of it. He has reinvented football in England, anyone that doesn't see that is mental IMO. He really is a genius, sometimes it fucks us up but for the most part we have seen football that nobody, not even Arsenal fans, have ever seen in England. A one-off imho.

Think next (This) season will be his last. Maybe a break then he’ll go Juventus to push for the CL there also.

Think we’ll go for Naglesmann or at a stretch Erik ten hag

And that right there is the crux of the matter. When you constantly innovate, change the direction of football, bring the clubs you manage unprecedented success occasionally those innovations may cost you also as that is the risk of trying new things.

I would not swap the last few years for anything, even if it means we receive the occasional punch on the nose along the way
