Pep's contract situation | 2 year extension confirmed! (pg1817)

I just don’t get what he was trying to do yesterday. What a huge let down. There were thousands of us in Porto and we deserved better.
He was trying to overload them defensively by going man to man with their back 5 and kante. Just didn't work and most of our players couldn't find simple passes for the first 45 minutes

Some very disappointing comments on here. I'll put it down to the beer and an unsatisfying result talking.

Some fans have got so used to the team playing at the highest innovative level, with records broken and trophies won on a regular basis, and you question the manager that got us to a final and lost to another top team, trying to do the same thing?

Pep adapts, other teams adapt to that, then we change something else to counter it. It's worked pretty damn well so far!
I'll stick with Pep, and his tinkering, thanks.

I dread to think of this place when he does go, and we end up with a mere human manager again!!!

The post Pep era will be scary. Top post that. Cheers.

Pep has made many mistakes over the years.. but these mistakes are nothing when you know that he brought us 3 Premier Leagues in 5 seasons..
He is allowed to make mistakes, try new things, and even embarrass us sometimes..
he also made big mistakes especially in Europe, where he kept making bad choices, one after another
From Monaco, to Liverpool, to Spurs, to Lyon..
its ok, we keep progressing and it takes time..

but this one is by far the biggest.. You get the final of UCL, and play without a real DM? I don't think we will ever forget this one
I just hope that Pep remembers this game the next time he thinks about trying something new in Europe
and yes Pep is the best coach for City, and I hope that he stays with us for the next 10 years

Like most I absolutely adore Pep. The football he plays, the titles won, the level of performance that we as a fanbase now demand is incredible.

Lets not forget we played in the final of the Champions League which is still somewhat of a dream. Yes we let ourselves down but football can do that to you with the immense highs and lows.

I genuinely can’t wait until next season. With the fans back the experience will be more authentic.

It does slightly feel like the end of an era, one with which new legends need to be born. Waving goodbye to Sergio, Silva and Kompany hurts but seeing the likes of Foden, Dias and Torres flourish will be a thing of beauty.

Looking forward, I really hope next year Palmer, lavia and a couple of the youngsters are integrated within the first team squad. I feel we have missed the element of youth under Pep and this year some squad players have shown they aren’t up to it.

If we can add said youngsters, to maybe the rumoured Mendes, Grealish and Kane then wow we are in for one hell of a journey. Obviously we would need a bit of a cull and I think Pep is fairly brutal in the fact he will do that. I think one of Sterling/ mahrez will go. Then with Aguero, Mendy, Ake or Laporte we will have wages freed to evolve this squad.

It's not the fans he should worry about, we'll be happy winning the title , it's the owners he should be worried about, they want the CL above all else

Man just needs to admit he got it wrong. If he can do that he'll win us the CL, but he has to be honest with himself here. Failure to do so may result in further disappointment. Failure is feedback pep, take the feedback or forever faulter on the biggest stage.

Just the double this year... Anyone wanting him to go needs a wobble, he's the best manager we'll ever have.

c'est la vie

No way he should go but he's the best manager we've had domestically. The manager who wins us the CL will be the best internationally.

100% agree.
disappointed with the result like everyone else but wouldn’t swap our manager for anyone else.
We won’t truly appreciate him until he is gone.
