It’s not always prudent to appoint the chosen one of the previous manager…If that's the case, and pep's preference is de zerbi, then in an ideal world city would look into bringing him in a year early before pep leaves to learn the city way and for a seamless transition, rather than let him rot at Chelsea's circus

The biggest thing we need to try and keep is as much of the back room staff as possible when Pep does finally leave.
I’m sure a lot will, but even if we only get to keep them for a couple of years to consult, it would help smooth the transition.I get the feeling once he's gone, a lot of the backroom staff would be moving on too.
