I can see both sides.
Dias, Akanji and Stones have been more than good enough at the middle.
Gvardiol, after a slow start, is now doing absolutely brilliantly on the left. With the amount of goals he's also scoring, it seems it's working quite well.
I feel like our real issues are more in midfield, wide players who don't score many goals, and potentially the right hand side of the defence as it feels like Walker is now approaching (or is past...) a sell by date.
Putting Gvardiol at CB would be a waste, he’s much more involved in the game at LB and the problem with the defence is we don’t have a defensive midfielder protecting them, so we’ll concede just as many goals with Gvardiol in the middle.
Might be weird to say but Josko Gvardiol is an anomaly. He played striker at youth level then midfield and finally as a defender, at Leipzig he was a CB but ended up more times in the box and attacking than defending. He has the finishing of a striker , the defending of a CB and the technique of a winger.
Basically the only thing he definitely isn’t is a midfielder, which is a shame.

I have a feeling that Pep is on his way. The lack of signings, Fodens performances, the apathy in the teams displays this season, just makes me wonder, if they all know that Pep is off at the end of the season.
The drop off in performances could be done to Rodri, could be down to other injuries, poor recruitment but you have to wonder with the last few performances is something up.
We have been below par for a while but the last two performances have shown real vulnerabilities in the team.

Got to be sorted in the international break one way or another. The team is in desperate need of a refresh, we've not addressed issues that have been there for 2yrs+, a reliance on an ageing squad and not replacing Alvarez.
Pep needs to sign up for the challenge or let us start the process for next season now.

I think he needs to sign for two years as well be in the same situation as next year. I don’t want him to leave but we need a bit of a rebuild and who ever is behind it needs to be committed.
