I think it is an interesting situation for Guardiola regarding his contract. I think he has a very good relationship with the club so that there are no issues there. Klopp, in contrast, was I think very and increasingly unhappy with Liverpool owners who I think pushed players he didn't want onto him and even wanted to tailor his strategy/tactics.
So that once he had enough Klopp decided to pull the plug.
I also think that Guardiola wants to continue working as a football manager. I think that an important question for him would perhaps be whether there is something more he can still accomplish in England given his great success. It is also important that there are not many places where he could actually go. In Spain I think he could only go back to Barcelona, but he managed and did that already and he can always go back there. I think that going to Italy would be a step down for him in terms of the competition/league he would work in.
I guess an important question is whether Barcelona and the people there start crying for him to get back. I don't know about that. I don't think he would do that without giving notice and making a plan with the club he has, and has had, a good relationship with.
But he also didn't renew his contract. So that perhaps he has some sort of thoughts/ideas. Perhaps he wanted to get clarity on the trial/accusations. So that he waited for that.
