Must be very young then, definately in my lifetime,in a big game
it wasn't working out after 10 minutes and the world and his wife could see it
but not him.
Don't think it was that daft, but tha't just my POV. Think the fact is what's in his DNA that makes him so great is also what makes him sometimes try something different for it to not work. One part doesn't come without the other. As far as I'm concerned the good vastly out weighs the bad and the wins vastly outweigh the losses the trophies we do win vastly outweigh the ones we miss. So there is no question for me we couldn't have any better manager. He did some daft shit while at Bayern and continues to do it with us.
It's in his DNA.
Steve Lomas, Niall Quinn and a corner flag would like a wordand we turned up with a plan to shoot ourselves in the foot
the biggest fuck up in our history
and everyone knows it

Because he'd seen how they played in the 2 recent games with a back 5 and 2 sitting deep. I would guess as much as I can guess Peps thinking he thought Sterling and Mahrez wide would stretch their back line leaving space for his 3 midfielders to get into the box, fed by Gundogan. I guess he saw them beat us with long balls into channels and thought a dm wasn't as important as stretching their defence.but why
fuck about with a proven team in a fucking final ?
its unbelievable

It didn't work because Kante and Jorginh dropped to cover the centre backs doubling up on the wingers.Even Mount dropped deep.
So Iit didn't work mainly because Tuchel countered it, but the idea makes sense in my head, and must have made total sense in Peps head.
