Pep's contract situation

How good would it be? All we need to do is find an "elder statesman" quality manager who is happy to take the role for one year for one last swansong. What abour Wenger? I know everyone hates him but he is a proper manager. He is certainly a greedy bastard who would not turn down a last payday.
Wenger wouldn't work. He coats us off in the media all the time, hypocrisy about "Arab money" and "inflating the market" and all that. Thinks we are foul of FFP and not the other way round. He'd be a triangle peg in a circle hole.

In the Emery/early day's of Arteta, I could see AW coming back to Arsenal as head coach or director, but that's the only job for him in the Prem. Other than that, it's PSG, France, or continue his semi-retirement in Switzerland.

In that scenario it'd have to be someone familiar with our style, who wouldn't implement too many changes or want to impose their image, just to switch back the next season.

Wenger loves Arab money since he joined the Qatar gravy train. He will do anything for the right money.

Given that we generally plan years ahead, I'd be very surprised if the club don't know whether Pep is extending or not. Assuming it is as Pep says and he'll decide later in the season and his decision is to go, that would leave us with 6 months maximum to select a manager from a very small pool, establish whether he's interested, prise him, (and his backroom staff) out of his existing job, settle him in Manchester, let him assess the squad and then sell/sign any players he does/doesn't want. Unique though Pep is, it doesn't add up to me.

My guess is he's staying but it was interesting that Nagelsmann had nice things to say about us before the recent friendly when no-one from that club ever has a good word for us.
City do plan years ahead and will want continuity not just from Pep but the whole of his support team. I am sure Pep is engaged in discussions not just about his future but also others.

They will not want to fall of a cliff edge like the rags did with Fergie nor bring in a new manager who wants his own way and staff. It is about succession and structural planning rather than revolution and I believe that Pep and his wishes form an integral part of it.

ten Hag will be available before the end of the year :)

Like I said, he's a hypocrite. He's always bashed City with that stick though. It's not so much about moralising, he always knew he was talkin out of his arse(nal).

Last time I checked, Fly Emirates weren't a British small enterprise.

It's a lovely day why worry about Peps contract ? He knows where he is best off, and so he will either sign a new one at some point or he will leave. Either way we have no say in it so why worry ? Pep works best when he feels the love and doesn't feel that he is being boxed in and restricted ie. Internal politics and suchlike, he has near as damn the perfect set up at City let's all enjoy it .
