Pep's contract situation

I can see pep leaving and poch already being lined up For the job
I think it is time to have a reboot for both parties
Unless messi comes in!
But we will see soon, in next 5 games I can see united sacking ole, so maybe we will see poch intentions then

So,essentially.....The Pep and Messi show for a maximum of 2 seasons,or Poch for the foreseeable and an opportunity to build his own dynasty.

I'm torn, but if i had to make a decision.....i'm leaning towards the latter.

He's already exceeding his longest tenure of 4 years, I do not see him extending further

Pep has talked about this before, he is not a Fergie sort of profile - the job drains you & the players, a reset is needed at some point

Guardiola has never before had what he has at City, which is why he's still here. As those close to him have said often he is incredibly idiosyncratic and anyone who tells you they know what he'll do next is a liar.

I wouldn't be shocked at all if he signed a new 3 year deal at City, and I wouldn't be shocked if he quits and takes a year out.

Thankfully, my concern isn't with Pep, it's with City. I can see the pros and cons of him staying longer - but I think like he has said often that decision will be made by the players (in their performances) this season.

I don’t agree. Wishful thinking on your part. We were told he was only saying 3 years and it will be 5 soon. If he wants to stay as he has hinted then I can see another 2 year deal.

Were would he go? He is comfortable and will not have the same influence or control at another team.

Unless he is bored/burnt out he will sign.

I suspect that any self respecting Barcelona supporter pines for Pep's return to the club in some capacity. So I can see why FC Barca is thinking the way he is. But I think it's almost impossible that he returns to Barca in any capacity anytime soon. Maybe when he's fully done with coaching he'll go back as a DoF or something like that. Maybe even run for president. But not anytime soon IMO.

The issue is just not if Pep himself is happy, it's the players.

A very demanding manager, incredibly intense, how the players react this season will be the real issue.

Also the decision for Pep to stay should not be dependent upon Messi arriving.

I agree it would be madness on his part to go anywhere near Barca at the min and risk his reputation.

Who knows what he will do but the easiest option is an extension as long as the players and club are on the same page.

I don’t buy into the players feeling burnt out. I know Pep is intense but I hope we are not turning into a club that lets players dictate the manager. We had bit of this with previous managers.

The shelf life of a player is small, why would you not want to be managed by the best during that period.

Build and go again with Pep at the helm would be amazing. No guarantees in sport but he will get us back on top.

Whatever Pep does I cannot see him going back to Barcelona at the moment. He left due to toxic politics. Guess what. The politics are worse and they have less money. If Pep does go, it’ll be for another challenge that he’s identified.
