Pep's contract situation

Pep is our strongest asset but also our weakest. If pep had plotted the correct course for the final we would be champions. He did not and the players failed. He has improved each player with his technical knowledge but when he gets it wrong the player fails. So the question we need to ask is just how good or bad are the players? No blueprint no idea.

Pep installs a collective team effort but it was obvious after the first 10 in the final that we needed a star player to shine. Kev is the closest we have followed up by Foden. Individual moments of brilliance was absent.

On reflection, this season is all on Pep, the good and the bad. He needs help going forward with at least 2 new match winners.

Where did the ‘world’ class players go? why did the Chelsea players act with more aggression? Why did they seem to want it more? Don’t get blindsided by making pep the sole problem.

The players to a man bar walker did not want to win more than the Chelsea players. The occasion got to them imo.

I think people are very frustrated and angry.

I just got up, it's Monday morning here and if anything the defeat feels even worse than it did yesterday, I am completely gutted and pissed off and can't stop asking myself why Pep would fuck about like that.
I think words like embarrassing to describe Pep are ridiculous but disappointing isn’t.

It was noticeable from early on, when we had the ball there was very little movement or players trying to create space for a pass and inevitably we always had to play the ball back.
When Chelsea had the ball they had lots of space and always had someone free to pass to, they played through us or over us almost at will.
We didn't do nearly enough to pull Chelsea out of their shape, i've rarely seen us having to force or miss control so many passes.
At times it looked like Chelsea had 15 players on the field & we had a team of strangers

The Chelsea players were far more relaxed and happy that was so obvious from the off.

I said yesterday, hindsight is a wonderful thing but the difference in the two managers pre match pitch side interviews were night and day. Pep was irritable and tetchy, Tommy T relaxed, happy and bright.

The managers demeanor was mirrored by their teams.

Tuchel didn't overthink. He trusted his tactics and his players and played them to their strengths. Our didn't. Our formation tactics choice of personnel was all wrong. Can't go so much wrong in CL final.

I've seen this said a lot about Pep but why wouldn't he trust the players who'd just won the title and beaten the likes of PSG in the CL, makes no sense for him to think that way but that seems to have happened for this final.

I think what happened is that the players got just as confused as us supporters and that’s why they didn’t manage to play to the standards we are normally used to. KDB too isolated up front, Foden not in is normal place due to Sterling. Dinho missing etc. So it’s all on Pep this unfortunately, and I can understand if the players got angry and confused. Don’t think it was a particularly happy dressing room before or after.

Pep needs to take adjusting time in account. When you make 8 changes or move the player after 60 games on new position - it takes at least 20min of the game only to adjust and gain the confidence.

Just like the Lyon defeat effected the squad at the start of this season gone, Pep will have a job on his hands regaining the trust of the team and getting them going again.
I've thought of that mate, remembering last season.

Why would Pep do this ?

Genius, yes maybe.
But is this a massive flaw he keeps showing, and why does he love Sterling so much ?
