Were probably not winning the champions league with pep ive come to accept that we'll all just have to settle for every other trophy. When you think about it how many teams like ours win the champions league the bulk of champions league winner or teams who are good in this competition are counter attacking teams. outside of barca most teams who do well in the competition are very strong and the back and lightning quick on the break. Honestly i think its a big achievement to make it to the final without a striker. I'd be happy with just making the semi-finals consistently and winning the league.

i'd like us to win it once just so we have one but im more than contemt with loads of league success. Obviously id love us to be specialists in the tournament like madrid have been in the last decade despite being very poor in the league most of the time. But with our style of football im not sure we ever can be.

In the big games against better teams our lack of a proper goalscorer has cost us or almost cost us. We got away with it in the league because we're better than the majority of teams we faced. Against better organised teams like Chelsea and dare I say it the rags we didn't. Even games we won we missed chance after chance and often made it harder work than it should have been. Against Spurs in the final we totally dominated them but scraped the win, if that shot of theirs would have gone in just after half time it could have been very different.

Pep totally fucked up. The team that beat PSG should have started. He can use five substitutes so he could have changed it if it wasn't working, those players deserved to start the final.

Poor compared to who, though? It's an incredibly difficult competition to win. He's won as many as Alex Ferguson and Jose Mourinho and twice as many as Klopp. I suppose we could tempt Ancelotti away from Everton or get Zidane in, but do you think we'd be more likely to win it then, and do you think we'd more likely to win the league while doing so? I think he will win at least once more in his career, hopefully with City, and probably twice, which, by the end of his career will make him *the* the most successful manager in Europe of all time. But by definition there's going to be more failures than success along the way.

I'd still say his CL record is poor considering the three clubs he has managed have been right amongst the top clubs in Europe, if not the top one, and not just dominant in their domestic leagues.
