The question for me is whether Pep's departure would trigger changes elsewhere in the club, with other people leaving.
It's too simplistic to think that people like Begiristain are only there because of Pep, but given how close that group appears to be, there must be a risk of a bigger shake-up happening this season and this may be why the club is happy to delay any decision and not force the issue.
Having just watched the press conference, you've got to say Pep doesn't look happy. As others have noted, he might just have been having a bad day or have other things on his mind, but he looks like someone at the end of a season rather than the start of it.
