Pep's First Training Session - Video

Had to giggle at the likely confusion in the heads of players who thought they knew it all. Might just spur some into thinking this is worth giving their all for.

If Pep can for instance get the best from Yaya, Nasri, Fernando, Delph and Bony (in terms of fitness, mental attitude, awareness, match day cohesion and into top form) it'll be like signing half a team. Maybe Wily too. Maybe even Kolorov.

Watched that with a huge smile on my face and couldn't help but laugh when he went 'new ball' and when he was running with it one way, then the other, then back the other way. Gonna be a good season. Wait til the rest of the first team are back!!

When the camera panned out it was interesting to see how many coaches were watching training, no doubt making their own observations about the players and their positioning!

There will be some players that are simply not going to thrive under this guy and others who will love it. Brilliant to see him in action so close up, and it's easy to understand just from that snippet why his teams play with such intensity. So excited. Far from being chaotic he wants them to trust their ability and move the ball faster, which is something we have all been crying out for.

Looked a basic drill yet many would make mistakes just like a lad did when he chased a ball eagerly when it was just being played back to start again, all about being focused and keeping shape and not being a headless chicken. Fundamental to the way Guardiola wants to play too

Reminds me of the buzz when Mancini brought the team to the US. There was something in the air that summer.

Great to watch.

Struck me that it's been a long while since bluemoon posters have been largely (think of another word for united) behind the manager. Early days yet of course, but the whole atmosphere seems to have changed.
