Pep's Reaction After Bernardo Scored

Agreed. It was one of those, "I doubt this will go in but I'm giving it a go" goals from Bernie. Shaw and De Gea were caught between leaving it to one another and thinking it would go out of play, neither saw or thought Bernie would get a toe on it. I love the shot of Bernie lying there looking back and realising the ball is in the net, then going mental

I thought it was mostly on Shaw, who could have smashed it clear quite easily. De Gea's problem was that he should have been a yard forward so he was in front of the post - the ricochet would have then gone out.

I think Bernardo was probably hoping for a corner off the keeper.

What struck me about that was how passive the Rag fans were, just two fans gesticulating at Bernie.

It that was the Etihad and a Rag had scored the whole crowd would be giving it some.

They were dumbstruck, dumb being the main part of that word. One is flicking the V. In one of those pictures I'm sure I spotted that blonde woman in glasses, the one clapping and singing before recoiling in shock at Sunderland, when news came through Sergio had scored

I don't think he'll leave until he's won the CL. He knows its very achievable, not a pipe dream. No matter what he says publicly I think he'll feel he's let the club down if he leaves without delivering it

Now if that happens this or next season he could go at the end of his contract
I think we underestimate his and Barcelona's relationship with the CL. The constant pain of having fierce rivals brag about it, him being a ballboy in 86 and the disappointment in the final, the final redemption in 92, and then obviously the double as a manager, one in the same stadium where he managed it as a player. He sees City as Barcelona in 92 desperate to shut up Madrid fans.

I think it was one of those goals that only Bernardo could have scored, as it was all based around 100% anticipation of an error.

Sterling, Marhrez, and Gundogen have all had situations recently where an error has taken them by surprise.

Only a warrior who refuses to give up on an apparently lost cause could score that goal
