Peps Targets

Plastic fan??

Anyway......while we have won trophies under Pellegrini, playing some very attractive football I might add.....I also believe we have witnessed some horror shows......we could have achieved so much more had he made better decisions and been more tactically savvy in a lot of his games. Also, other than uncontrollable injuries......his constant, unnecessary, rotation of players has also been a bug bear of mine as it has never allowed us to settle into a cohesive force. So while some mitigation for our poor displays can be offered,i also think had our very talented squad been fully, and properly, utilised we wouldn't be in the precarious position we currently find ourselves.
Back to Mangala.....he's a very good player, and as soon as he is afforded the opportunity of the above,im sure he will go on to consistently prove it.

I don't believe Pep needs a new centre half.

Watching the bitterness of them idiots on Sunday suplement .. Eufa have betrayed themselves allowing man city a free run on players they can spend what they like but they might not even get top 4 ... And there centre back purchases have been awfull mangala was a the worst ever buy in premiership history and watching rashford v demichellis in the Derby they have made some awfull buys at the back. These guys love sticking the knife in

Even after all this time, the amount of bitterness and hatred shown towards City still surprises me. It's pathetic, just a bunch of jealous cunts who can't stomach the fact that we are now dining at the top table.

Statistically, here are some of the best players under the age of 25 from this season in positions we seem to need.

In my mind all these and others who are Statistically excellent should be researched as possible targets. The bolded guys are the ones I want

CM: Pogba, Koke, Kante, Barkley, Geis, Xhaka
AM: Dembele, Boufal, Insigne, Draxler AM
LB: Riccardo Perreirra, Sidibe, Sabaly, Rodriguez, Robbie Brady LB
RB; Sergie Aurer: Fabihno, Joao Cancelo, Belerin RB
CB: Virgil Van Dijk, Reyes, Umtiti, Koulibaly, Tah

I bolded the ones is prefer. Even though I haven't seen moat of these players indepth. But from where they accumulate their stats, and their possession skills ( something out incoming coach likes) the bolded are the most likely.

I excluded some players for other reasons I.E. Mustafi at Valencia, Neymar at Barca, Dybala at Juve Etc. By and large I don't think those guys are legitimate targets for different reasons. There are also players like Isco, Laporte, and Stones who didn't make it coz they statistically Didn't make the cut.

Anyway, while not the be all and end all, I thought it was quite Interesting to see who was succeeding statistically. And it seems we are on the chase for some of them :)

I quite like that list especially Van Dijk thats a very good suggestion, and given recent reports we are going after 2 Cb's it would be good to have a marque CB Stones/Laporte and Van Dijk as well. On top of that Fabinho at RB, Bernat at LB, Pogba and Gundogan at CM and a top class wide player. I watched the Rennes game the other week and Dembele looked good but haven't seen much of him and don't know what he plays like but it appears he is highly regarded, it would be nice to replace Navas, presuming he goes, with another out and out wide player.

Oh, fuck them.

Where's Bernat on that list? Not good enough ? ;)
I was simply letting the stats dictate who made the cut. But common sense suggests having competition diminishes your overall rating. So if you get subbed a lot or have a lot of games where you subbed in, your overal ratings takes a hit. Also defenders on counter attacking team get an inflated rTing because they spend lots more time tackling and intercepting the ball. But yes statistaclly Bernat didn't make the cut. What he does best, keeping possession and getting open on offense, doesn't get you statistical points, however it's integral to good team play. Similarly Isco didn't make the cut either, there are about 27 CMs ranked ahead of him, yet I couldn't name 5 AM/CMs I'd take over him. I know his poor ranking is opportunity related.

I'm intrigued by Ricardo Perreira though. He seems to have the ball possession tools, yet some steel and end product too. So maybe you guys should keep Bernat afterall ;p

He is a work in progress, but the potential is deep.
