I doubt pep will come in and have a revolving door in terms of players. Txiki has been working on getting pep for around 3 years now, so the squad he has put together will have that in mind.

I think the big changes will be full back and centre midfield. All our full backs are the wrong side of 30 and the centre midfield needs a bit of an overhaul. I'm hoping for Rodriguez and Gundogan to be two of the players we sign but in all honesty i'd be happy if we just signed so more mobile players. Every game recently it seems like our players are running in quick sand when the opposition break on us.

Apart from bringing in possibly the best manager in world football you are right. Can't for the life of me work out how bringing in Fernando, Bony, Navas, Mangala was in anyway planning for Pep's arrival. Daft signings. Things did improve however last summer with Raheem, de Bruyne and I think Otamendi.

I don't think this team is on its last legs. I think it looks like that because the area that is poor is the centre of midfield and if you get over run there then you lose the battle to control the game. Add one or two mobile CM's with the ability to hold and move the ball quickly and accurately and it will go a long way to solving the problems in this team.

Shouldn't forget that coaches impact transfer targets as well. Not sure how things are set up at City but would be odd for Txiki to be making transfers without a coach's stamp of approval

to be fair , getting hit by ffp , stalled rebuilding plans,i agree some of his signings have not been great ,but thats football all signings are in the lap of the gods ,

Pep will no doubt have a shopping of his own. The problem he will face is moving players on. City pay their players very well, (allegedly), and some might just decide a pay cut is not for them and do a Nigel Clough. This would limit the squad additions.
For the pundits who are saying Pep will find the prem difficult, sour grapes are clouding their judgement, there will be very little he does not know already.
Who he brings in will have "football intelligence", adaptability, and be absolutely comfortable on the ball. We have only a few at the mo, so maybe we will have to be patient for a season, not something us fans are good at.....per adua ad astra and stuff.
