Perseid Meteor Shower started 16th July until August 23rd, at Peak August 11th-13th

Anybody see the meteor last night? I'm in Manchester and at about 10.20pm you could see it burn up in the atmosphere. Incredible.

I saw the Liverpool echo headline which said

Clouded over a bit but a nice red crescent Moon rising now.

42.7% moon tonight clearly visible on the horizon,
getting ready to set and leave us with darkness.

Don't know about a meteor shower. We had a fairly intense thunderstorm around midnight. Bright, forked lightning (which we rarely see), and very loud thunder. Didn't last all that long the worst was over after about an hour. But it knocked the power out, and it was still off when I left the house 15 minutes ago.
