This happened on the weekend. But as its not been shown on Sky, like they showed Balo's clip every 5 minutes, most people in my office didnt even know about it. Just shows that Sky not the FA determin who are disciplined and who are not by repeatidly showing clips, wheeling out anyone to comment.

Notice, no word from the FA yet on this but quick to Ban Balo

There is no public or media outcry so no action necessary.

Heaven forbid that football should follow those fairies at Rugby Union and giive bans out for piddling offences such as gouging?

Not going to happen. Also, he's not exactly the highest profile of players, and he's not playing for one of the top four. I'd suggest this would be different if it was Rooney or Gerrard - or Balotelli.

Have you not seen Peter Crouch's international strike rate? He's the greatest forward of his generation! The fact he doesn't play for a top 4 club (or even a top 6 club) is just an oversight on the part of the managers of those clubs. All of them.

They said on Sky Sports that neither Olsson nor Woy had anything to say about it after the game, so I guess it won't go any further. If Woy was constantly saying equivalent bollocks to 'arry, such as "Peter Crouch has done this before", they might have to show the clip a bit more!

About as blatant an act of violent conduct you could witness,as it went unpunished at the time i fully expect a 3 game ban.

As already said, why has the incident not yet been reviewed and why has he not been charged?

I said the other week that these incidents only ever seem to get reviewed if they're either replayed over and over again on TV or if the opposing manager kicks up a stink. Or both.

It's trial by television and the rantings of opposition managers. It's unfair and highlights inconsistencies between incidents that make the headlines and those that don't. For me, the only way of making this totally fair is if the authorities sat down after every round of matches in the Premier League and examined every second of every match in order to review every controversial incident. Of course, that would require additional resources to implement and would take up a lot of time so it's probably a non-starter but at least it's fairer than cherry-picking certain incidents.

Having said that, regarding the Crouch incident - even if we accept that they can't review everything, particularly those that haven't resulted in a media frenzy, surely the FA have to give this one special attention? Regardless of Hodgson and WBA not making a fuss about it, it's something that hardly ever happens on a football field and as such they should be taking a serious look at it.

A quick search on Google returned the fact that in Rugby Union bans for first timers bring bans in the region of 9 weeks and for repeat offenders it can be up to 70 weeks.

To say that the disciplinary code in Premier League football is flawed is a massive understatement.
It's amateurish at best and downright corrupt at times.

There needs to be a great shake up with consistency and transparency in evidence or the game will be held up for even more ridicule than it is at the moment.

No charge according to SSN

Fucking disgusting act and one of the most horrible things you could even attempt to get away with on a sports pitch.
