Peter Drury replaces Martin Tyler on Sky Sports

Not just saying it as a City fan, but does any football fan genuinely rate him as a commentator anymore?

He doesn’t offer any insightful analysis on players/teams, he just seems to talk in the same monotone voice cracking poor ‘banter’ whilst living off that ‘it’s live’ sound bite.

He really needs to be moved aside now for someone with some energy.

Ageist of me I know, but I agree - in his mid-70s now, he needs easing aside and the opportunity needs giving to someone else.

That guard of honour lunacy is getting shredded on Twitter. Liverpool fans largely seem to detest Tyler.

Even PaddyPower are piling in.

Incredible that even United and Liverpool fans seem to dislike him, given how sycophantic he usually is to those particular clubs. I know we all perceive bias differently depending on who we support, but fucking hell. On the bright side, if he really is universally unpopular maybe Sky will bin him soon.

That's the mad thing - how can everyone dislike him? Maybe Chelsea like him.

Unless Sky take a cut from all the advertising on sites frequented by people complaining about Tyler!
